Watched it on Sunday.

It was actually quite good! I enjoyed the adventure parts. And I'm quite surprised at how much I enjoyed Gabby Gabby. She was a delightful anti-villain (I guess?). It's quite a nuanced portrayal.

Though it's a bit unfortunate that we didn't get to really spend time with Bo Peep prior to this movie, so Woody leaving the crew for her (and freedom) falls a bit short for me.

@Raka_Putra for some reason today I dreamt there was inexplicably an Indonesian KFC in some office here in Canada and I asked them if their menu is actually the Indonesian menu not the Canadian one but they just stared at me confused, like "uhhh it's KFC, KFC is KFC", at least that's how I interpreted their stare

then I had to explain specifically I wanted chicken skins that isn't offered by Canadian KFCs but then I woke up before I getting their response

I used to really hate Knives as a character in the graphic novels, but in the movie, witnessing the highlights actually being punched out of someone's hair was pretty phenomenal. And the timing of the punchlines with Knives was perfection. Overall, a great example of someone who needed to be brought to screen in order to flourish. Usually the opposite is true.

Huh, that's an interesting take. I haven't read the comic, admittedly.

Oh hey, I've been away for some time due to very busy weeks at work but I am very glad you're continuing at a steady pace!

Favorite track is hard to say...but I've always been partial to the more serene tracks like Hope and Towering Cloud in Summer. They bring back good memories of getting to know the Umineko characters as they arrive at Rokkenjima...



As for how long...uhh, 120+ sounds right. I took long to finish EP4 because of how much it dragged, especially in the early parts.

Pretty great in the first film, but she gets progressively more dull and generic as the series progresses. I think the survivalist aspect of the first movie really gives her some palpable stakes that I think the rest of the series kind of lose as they rush to create big moments. The more superheroic she becomes, the less I care about her.

Yeah, this is true. Hunger Games would've worked better as a standalone or a series with a different protagonist for each installment.

Hey, having #18 as my highest is pretty good! And I'm glad you appreciate it. The Sims soundtrack is one of the best for just normal domestic life as you put it. I can leave it on loop for hours in the background while working.

I probably can't show this

The set-up like presumably most films in this "style" is strange and forced, which does contribute a bit more absurdity to the whole situation however. There's a million "why" questions one could ask throughout this short clip and each one leads down a different rabbit hole of nonsensical conclusions. All that's important here is that a woman abandons her salad after seeing what's in front of her, and this is a tragedy of epic proportions. Will the salad ever be eaten again? Or is it cursed to rot on the kitchen counter for all eternity? It's a total shame, and I hope for once, someone will think of the salad's feelings in all of this.

XD Love it! Totally worth using up my nomination. A bit surprised it's not in the bottom 3 lol.

Things I Liked: The overall melody and energy

I never understood the love for this song. Its good, its really solid, but its not crazy good. Part of my objection to it is that the violins really work, but I dont like the guitar riffs. I realize that guitars and violins were invented at about the same time, but guitars just seem so much more modern. The semi-medieval world of BD needs music that just feels like it predates guitars, is all. Not to imply that the guitar playing is bad or anything, but it feels out of place. A different instrument would have worked better for me.

The song itself does hit all of the right JRPG beats, though, especially the main recurring violin string. I dont know the word for it, but an example is at 0:12.

Fair point, it would be interesting to listen to a version of this song with another instrument in place of the guitar.
