I just marathoned all of them after Endgame came out and it was painful.

They're not good and you can count the instances of real creativity on one hand, but I don't begrudge anyone else for liking them. If all they want to eat is candy, let them eat candy.

I used to toy with the idea that all these big movies are part of one timeline; LOTR> Crouching Tiger> Gladiator> Harry Potter> Matrix> Star Trek> Star Wars whatever, and any form of magic in those stories all comes from the same source. Sauron and Death Eaters are tapped into the dark side, for example. Kinda like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen for sci-fi and fantasy.

I just watched it again and it mostly holds up. It's basically a snapshot of the 90's, with racial tension as a central focus. The cast is great, the story moves well enough, and the soundtrack is excellent.

I tried to watch the new one and had to quit about 30 minutes in.

It's how he operates. He puts it out there "You saw what happened with..." which gives room for the right wingers to fill in the details with stupid shit, and if whatever he claims turns out to be wrong in the end, he can say that was never specific about it in the first place. This is how Obama gets demonized for being a muslim, or how Clinton gets smeared as a murderer. He's a sloppy grifter and you'd have to be dumb as fuck to fall for it.

Yeah, South Park is too "of the moment" to have any impact years down the line. The only things that have seemed to stuck are casual antisemitism, ridicule of global warming, trans bashing, and the general sense that anyone who actually cares is a loser.

George is great, and the biggest reason why Seinfeld is a success. Larry David proved it by taking his same self-centered character into further success with Curb Your Enthusiasm.

And I like the series finale. Most people have a hard time with it because they can't come to terms with the fact that the main characters of Seinfeld are awful people. We spent years having fun with them, but in the end it's time to recognize who we are.

Not gonna spoil much more than that, but... well... be warned about the ending. The boat sequence has some of the worst backprojection I've ever seen. It's supposed to depict an out-of-control boat perilously speeding past rocky skrags, but looks more like sped-up footage shot from a low-flying helicopter.

Yeah it looks wrong, but I love that scene. The music going nuts, the boat out of control, the cartoonish crack of Bond's punches, and finally Domino asserting herself. It's fun.
