- Im sorry, is no one going to comment on the little girl turning into a grown-ass woman? I know its normal for Phoenix and Maya, but surely not the others.
- Man, the back of Morgan Feys head is pretty huge. Thats some impressive hair.
- I enjoy Phoenix stealing Mias line and presenting it to the court as his own.
- I actually expected Ini Mineys eyes to open when she got upset, thus proving I am a master at predicting trivial nonsense in video games.
- Dammit, I did not expect the beret to momentarily have an angry ghost face.
- Your honor, please allow the defense to continue one more minute. Okay.
- I actually figured out this was Mimi Miney when she started talking about how awesome British cars are, just before the game reveals it. Im ashamed I didnt figure it out earlier.
- I mean, I expected an explanation for how Morgan Fey and Mimi Miney met and planned out this murder, but I guess not.
- I guess maybe Ill go into more detail about this when I do case rankings, but this was a pretty disappointing case. The only thing not obvious from the beginning is Ini Mineys real identity, and otherwise its the easiest case to solve ever as a player, but the characters are like I wonder who couldve done ittttttt right until the end.

Lol back in the first game when you first reacted to Maya channeling Mia, I almost said "Just wait until later games," but decided to let you see for yourself.
Yeah, having the little kid channel Mia might've been a miscalculation.

- Shes the opposite of a lawyer a prosecutor. Wow, Phoenix, wow.
- He clutched onto his foolish pride too closely, and died for it. I can imagine this setting up a cool reveal later originally, but having played 1-5, this is just so dumb.
- Ini just asked whose accident, which means she must know something about another persons accident Um, Phoenix, that would be true for anyone else, but this girl
- Showing Maya a picture of Mimi Miney results in Phoenix saying I guess I cant expect her to know anything about this person, okay.
- Wait, wait, wait. This urn is the villages greatest treasure or whatever, so they put it unsecured on a pillar that children can play near, and not inside of a glass case or something?
- I mean, look. I dont know when I learned how to spell Ami, but I was certainly under eight.
- Show Pearl Ami Fey, get told she doesnt know who this is because she doesnt leave the village. Okay. Shut up, game.
- I notice the fake doctor does like a groping motion with his hand if you show him some female portraits.
- You know, back when everything was in the city, I accepted just going between locations in a single day. But weve been told that this village is two hours out of LA. I went to it, then back to Maya, then back to the city, then back to the village
- Is it bad that I feel worse for Ini about being creeped on so badly that she remembers the guy six months later than for some of the murder victims in the series so far?

- What in tarnation?! Hey judge! This is violence against my fair self! Thats fine.
- Ahhhh jesus christ I was not prepared for Pearl to channel Mia. I guess I just sort of assumed that Maya wasnt changing THAT much and it was mostly just for the audiences benefit, but I guess it can just straight-up make you grow three feet.
- I actually thought about for a while on whether or not to protest that the picture of Maya channeling the nurse isnt really Maya, but I dropped it.
- I mean, I accept that channeling spirits exists in this world, and I accept that the judge is swayed even by an illegal picture, Im fine with that. Its just that if you accept that, then you cant possibly hold Maya accountable for what happens when shes being possessed.
- I absolutely love Franziska whipping everyone in range, including Lotta for no reason.
- So the other woman is obviously Ini Miney, whod have the same basic face as her sister. Morgan Fey masterminded it, but she did the actual work. Morgan Fey replaced Ini Miney with an unconscious Maya or whatever while Phoenix and Lotta were calling the cops.

- They keep calling the new von Karma a successor. Let me guess, this is that Japanese thing where they dont have gendered third person pronouns, so they introduce a character by implying a boy only to reveal its a girl, and it has to be awkwardly worked around when translating it into English, right? I already know he has a daughter (actually, he mentioned a granddaughter last game), but I would have known about this anyway from the awkward dialogue.
- Apparently Pearl ran two hours to get here. Who says nobody walks in LA?
- Phoenix is like Edgeworth left and will never return. Because 1-5 was shoehorned in after the first game to explain this after the fact, though, Im not going to be specific in any way.
- Franziskas like you must be shocked because Im a girl even though she had no way to know how everyone kept avoiding her gender and shes like famous, isnt she? If anything, she should assume Phoenix already knows all about her.
- Foolish fool who foolish dreams of foolish dreams
- Phoenix Wright doesnt know about gunpowder burns at pointblank? Some lawyer.
- I love how Phoenix raises an objection about Maya being too small to kill the doctor with a knife, then von Karma objects because of the channeling technique, and no one understands except them but Phoenix drops it.
- There is not a single trace of gunpowder burn on this costume! Phoenix, you found this hole three minutes ago, no one here is in forensics, and the judge commented that the sleeve smells like gunpowder, I dont know if you can make this declaration.
- I like Franziskas grabbing her arm in the same place her father did, I like her completely absurd whip, and I like her curtsying. But Edgeworths shadowy face when hes surprised is definitely better than her grabbing her chest and turning away. For prosecutors so far, Im learning toward von Karma > Edgeworth > Franziska > Payne. I dont know if Payne even really counts, though.

- Morgan is quite cruel to the only other girl whose hair rivals her own Thats a lie. Lotta is #2, but shes still not in Morgans league.
- This is the second time Maya channeling a female ghost has caused her boobs to grow and her cleavage to show. Im just saying.
- Lotta took two pictures at the time of the murder. Rather than tell Gumshoe that, she just leaves. I mean, come on, game, you and I both know Im going to need to show them during the trial.
- Um, so, like, a murder is that thing where, like, one person kills another, right? I cant even make fun of this, Ive known girls who would say this.
- Why is Pearly the only Fey whose name doesnt start with an M?
- Man, the cops were really nice to wash off Mayas blood-soaked spirit medium outfit and give it back to her in the detention center instead of taking it for evidence.
- Come to think of it, the first time I met her It all started here, in this detention center. No, it didnt! It started in Mias office! What is wrong with you, Phoenix?
- Okay, so. Morgan Fey did it. She wants Pearl to inherit the village or whatever. She weakened the lock so Phoenix could smash it. I dont think she did it herself, she mightve had Ini Miney actually do the killing. Whoever the killer is hid behind the folding screen.
- Showing Ini Miney her own face: This face I think Ive seen it before What?! Youre joking, right? Of course, silly. Oh, thank goodness
- Ill take annoying little kid over child prodigy who acts like an adult, which is what I was expecting.
- Became a prosecutor at 13, huh?
- Dun dun dun, the nurse is Ini Mineys sister.
- So, uh Did talking to people really need a supernatural element? Couldnt I just have shown Ini Miney the newspaper clipping to begin with? Such a weird thing to add. Phoenix already just talks to people, why make it magical?
- Mia has psych-locks, which means she knows something about the murderer, which means its Morgan Fey for sure.

Episode 2: Reunion, and Turnabout
- So a doctor is like dude my nurse screwed up the medications and killed fourteen people, but died before she could admit it, so people blame me. Jesus Christ, that would be international news. Come with me so Maya Fey can channel her and make her sign a confession that she screwed up and my business can operate normally again.
- Im kind of shocked that the doctor is just wearing a normal business suit instead of a white lab coat. I understand why, but all previous people always wore their jobs clothing all the time.
- It wouldnt be an anime-style game without a sub-10 year-old girl, I guess.
- Ah, one of the traditional Japanese villages that are two hours away from Los Angeles. I love visiting these places.
- I like how the game isnt even pretending that this village makes sense if the city is Los Angeles. You couldve just said Phoenix took a flight and it would at least explain why he doesnt visit Maya more often.
- Ah, an incinerator. Perfect for murder mysteries.
- Morgan Fey, huh? I get that reference.
- Whenever I see room in fiction with a ton of candles, all I think is whose job is it to place and light and remove all of the candles? Its never explained.
- Lotta Hart shows up for the channeling with no explanation.
- And so I stop, because I misjudged how much time I had to play this morning. Will continue later.

Episode 1: The Lost Turnabout
- We open with Phoenix having a weird dream, then a weird guy bashing him with a fire extinguisher in a courthouse. Great security there. After that, Phoenix wakes up to a young policewoman telling him that its time to defend her in court. Even though Phoenix is like whore you, also who am I?, she seems confident hell win. Phoenix is among the most blas amnesiacs ever.
- How many sequels start with the protagonist having amnesia so new viewers/players/readers can get caught up to speed? Im genuinely curious. Its not super common, but Ive seen it before, too.
- Oh hey, Winston Payne is back.
- Way to go, Phoenix, just assuming her lover must be a man.
- How many times are killers going to fake having their victims write the names of other people in their dying moments and mess up with right handedness/left handedness?
- Its so weird hearing new music after getting used to the first game.
- I hate to admit this, but it took me a looooooong time to figure out to present the character profile instead of a piece of evidence.
- Winston Payne is really into that anime-style jumping back with your arms raised in a karate stance pose.
- I also hate to admit this, but I basically just guessed the baseball glove because I didnt know that you wear one on your non-dominant hand.
- Pretty good breakdown animation for Wellington, though its no Gant.
- I mean, I realize that the game is text-based, but in the real world of the game, surely the voice on the phone is obviously Wellingtons.

Well, I meant planning things out meticulously, Phoenix solving it anyway, and the killer having to improvise from there. Gant is sort of like that, though.

Overall Thoughts:
- Its very easy to see why people like this game so much. Its got a huge amount of charm, style, and presentation, not to mention dialogue that is just so ****ing memeable. This is one of the memeablest games Ive ever seen in my life. The combination of argument and investigation is rock solid, and the characters are mostly great. Even the characters who arent especially interesting are still fine. Phoenix and Edgeworth have a fantastic dynamic, too. Id say the weakest major link as a character is Maya, but I understand the utility of having a character with no idea of whats going on be present.
- However, this is actually the first VN Ive ever played besides Doki Doki Literature Club. If Im being completely honest with you guys, I understand the VNs arent really games side way better than I used to. This is barely a game. Im not saying that makes it bad or anything, and I did enjoy it a lot, but this is enjoyable for the story, characters, and mysteries, not for having difficult challenges or anything. If someone told me to draw the line between game and not game, I would divide them using Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Sorry if that makes me a VN elitist! Ill still be playing the next two games, at least.
- Anyway, as to the cases themselves:
- Theres nothing really to talk about with 1-1. Its not really a mystery at all, and its just there to be a tutorial. I liked Mia, too bad we ended up with the less interesting sister.
- 1-2 is a lot of fun. Redd White is entertaining as a villain, but hes just so much of a doofus that its hard to believe he could have ever become such a huge political monster. I know thats the point, but still. I said this before, but its still strange to me how avenging your mentor and your friends sister is the first thing you do.
- 1-3 is where things get a little wackier and more convoluted. 1-1 and 1-2 had mysteries that were basically normal mysteries, 1-3 is where it takes another step into being overly complicated. This is a weird comparison, but if youve ever taken math, its like the difference between precalculus and calculus: its just another layer of abstraction to puzzle your way through, except in this case its more fun. Its highlight to me is Edgeworth realizing whats happening and helping you, but other than that, Im not sure why its even in the game except to be another case. It certainly has nothing to do with the main plot aside from showing Maya and Phoenix growing into more of a team. I know there are like eight games in this series, but based solely on its anime art style, Im guessing the rest of the games are just teasing of PhoenixxMaya and nothing ever happens there.
- 1-4 is really good. von Karma is a really strong villain, having you defend your rival is a clever twist, and seeing how everything fits together is really satisfying. The only problems are that you have to show von Karma the letter that would let you easily win the case so that he can steal it and that no one would ever convict a child for throwing a gun during a fight that accidentally goes off, shut up. Overall, finally defeating von Karma with the metal detector is just so satisfying a moment that I have to call it the best part of the game.
- 1-5 is kind of frustrating, honestly? Its got a plot as complex as the DL-6 plot all in one case, which is fine, but to keep you on the rails, it forces you to not confront people with obvious evidence, not ask obvious questions, and so on. It requires a lot more logical leaps than the other cases that had better buildup, and it has a sidekick whos not quite as much fun as Maya. There are basically random things that happen, like Gant being able to not testify if he chooses but also not being able to return if he later wants to, which I assume is inspired by the real law that says you dont have to testify against yourself but if you do, then you have to answer all questions, but if so, they really took a lot of liberties with it even for this game. Sometimes the case uses obvious logic (Gant claiming that you planted the evidence in his office), then other times it doesnt, and its not as much of a problem in the other cases because they never make an attempt at being logical anyway. But unraveling the mystery is still fun, and the villain is probably even better than von Karma in terms of personality, which makes it hard to rank.
- But Ill rank them all anyway, because I know thats what people do in Phoenix Wright topics. 1-4 > 1-5 > 1-2 > 1-3 > 1-1.
- Ill be moving onto the second game at some point this week.

- I like how the judge acts like its super unusual for the defense to call a witness.
- The Chief of Police has the right to refuse to testify? Why? And why only him?
- Its kind of shocking to finally see Gant look nervous, but game, look, its way too late to have a character complain about regulations when searching for evidence. You gave that right up with April May and the wiretap.
- Its been a really long time since I literally laughed out loud at a game, but Gant flipping out and going all lightning-y got me good.
- Gant eventually refuses to testify, then teleports out.
- I like how Gant comes back just to threaten Lana in front of everyone.
- Jesus Christ, thats a lot of blood to go flying when Lana bites her thumb.
- Just gotta say once again, this game has fantastic presentation, what with Gant interrupting the testimony.
- That lightning Gant sprite is so good that it made me laugh again.
- Goddammit, even the third lightning Gant sprite got me.
- Uh Even within the logic of whats going on here, the strip of cloth may be illegal evidence in Lana Skyes trial, but a second trial of Gant is oh forget it.
- Did not expect Gants clapping explosion.
- Lana still thinks she can get a job related to crime after this? I guess in this world, it may be possible.

The first game is finally over. For the record, Steam lists me as having played for 24 hours, but that includes time I spent writing in Word and the time I had to spend getting back to where I was after the save was deleted. I'll post my thoughts on the game tomorrow.

- I like how Chief Gant just teleports into the witness stand. Cmon, game. At least have him already standing there.
- Lana firing Phoenix is a good plot twist. Thats something I havent been talking about a lot, the crazy plot twist aspect of the game.
- I really, truly, honestly wish Id been keeping track of how many times someone objects just before the judge makes a verdict.
- Wait, why is Phoenix allowed to cross-examine Ema? He was just fired! It should be Lana doing this.
- I like how Edgeworth takes out the first part of the evidence list to check its back. I mean, first of all, he had this for two years and apparently never turned it over. I turn over every piece of paper I receive automatically to check if theres anything on the back. Second of all, the sprite clearly has nothing on the back of the paper, but then he flips out because something is there.
- The Chief of Detectives hadnt even design him until this year! Edgeworth, is English your second language? Actually, I guess it is.
- Getting the stupid jar puzzle to line up properly took me like twelve tries.
- So a child accidentally killed an adult while trying to help him in a fight. Well, we all know what this means: she has to be tried for murder, preferably fifteen years from the day of the incident.
- We certainly cant get dead people to testify, said the guy who knows a spirit medium.
- I got a ding against me because when I connected the dots, I didnt cross the A. **** the judge.
- Gants got some wacky logic here to justify why the prosecutor is always responsible.

- This is a really minor touch, but I like how the Wild West music plays while you talk to Marshall, and when he leaves and says hes sad hell never work with Ema, the music goes completely silent for the rest of the screen.
- Hm This is partly a hunch, but Im guessing Gant killed Neil Marshall for some reason and framed Joe Darke for it, and he wasnt really a serial killer.
- You know I guess the later games must have prosecutors other than Edgeworth, right? Because we hear a lot about how hes the best prosecutor around, but all weve seen of him is constant losing. The only case we know he won, he won through falsified evidence.
- I put the code 7777777 into the safe as a joke, I didnt expect it to actually work.
- I find a picture on the opposite side of an evidence list, and Phoenix decides not to tell Ema for no reason I can discern?
- Why did the game make me do the shard fitting minigame again when its literally just pressing one button?
- I thought you said you didnt care if you got fired? Yeah, but if Id known it would end up like this, I wouldnt have said it!
- Haha, I didnt expect my question about how Lana opened Edgeworths trunk to actually be answered.

It did. They didn't pull something cheap on you like editing the footage, I promise.

The security video is probably my favorite part of 1-5, maybe one of my favorite parts of the whole series. It's just a really satisfying piece of evidence to look over.
It certainly felt a lot different from the rest of the game.

This is one of those "2001 vs 2005" things I was referring to. You're playing a DS game now, whereas you were previously playing a GBA game
Yeah, I know, but I was still amazed. I know later games still use the same basic sprite stuff, dont they?

- I like how everyone basically just admits that they have no idea whats going on with this case.
- Someone sent a VHS cassette to Meekins jail cell? Hmmmmm. Im uncertain of whether or not to joke about this. VHS cassettes in 2001 werent uncommon, but by 2005 they were. Im going to err on the side of caution and joke about it.
- The most shocking thing in the entire game is that someone animated human figures moving in this security footage.
- I like how the game treats Edgeworth telling Phoenix to point out the contradiction in the video tape as some kind of legal maneuver rather than just what literally anyone would do.
- Did did that glove fall out of the locker the first time I watched the video? Because I could swear it didnt and it was added the second time.
- I like how only now the game pretends that a trial has only the purpose of determining the murder of a single person, when every single trial up to this point has involved multiple seemingly unrelated pieces of nonsense.
- Phoenix: (Time to call a certain Texas ranger to the stand!) Ema: Mr. Wright, do you mean Stop reading my thoughts, Ema!
- I like how the game offers me the chance to call every character to the stand except Phoenix, Edgeworth, and the judge, yet all of them are obviously stupid options except Marshall. I thought it would be funny to ask for various wrong options to see Edgeworths responses, but the judge is just like shut up and thats it.
- For a smart person, Ema sure is surprised that the SL-9 Incident that she knows happened two years ago and involved her sister is the same case that happened two years ago and involved her sister.
- I like how Edgeworth questions the witness Phoenix called just so I can do the cross-examining for game mechanic purposes.
- What was Marshalls dialogue like in Japanese?
- Do you mean to tell us that you abandoned your police duties to eat some noodles?! Not all desperados eat tacos, pardner.
- Marshall: The murderer touched the place with my fingerprint while wearing gloves Judge: That sounds reasonable Shut up, judge.
- So detective, what do you have to say in eight words or less? That was actually satisfying.
- I understand now why someone bothered to animate this entire sequence, they planned to use it five times in one day.
- This game gave up the right a looooong time ago to talk about reasonable doubt. The courts in this system only accept 100% proven, dont give me that crap.
- We eventually prove that Goodman entered the locker room with someone whose ID is 7777777, and Edgeworth is like lol you cant investigate people ranked captain or higher. How do you even know from the ID number what the rank is? And in any case, doesnt that by itself narrow things down a lot, and thats giving them the benefit of not knowing that Gant is the only cop of that rank who has a sprite. Then the entire trial system breaks down and a witness starts interrogating a defendant and the judge just allows it.

- After the case, we go to the parking lot with Luminol testing fluid to test for blood after it was washed away. Phoenix is like Wouldnt the police have already tried that, and buddy, I wouldnt trust the police in these games to pull up their own pants correctly.
- We find that theres not enough blood. OooooOOoo?
- Angel Starr is like lol I was on the SL-9 Incident and got fired, also Goodman was the head detective on the case and that knife was the murder weapon and it was going to be transferred the day he was killed. I am again forced to use a walkthrough to divine through the Nintendo gods that Im supposed to present her with Goodmans ID after showing her the knife and Phoenix asking if she can tell us more about the incident.
- Eventually she tells us about the SL-9 Incident and how the prosecutors were dicks and executed a dude without decisive evidence, then demoted or fired all of the detectives involved, including wannabe cowboy.
- Actually, if Gant wanted us to connect the cases, how did he even know Phoenix had Goodmans ID?
- We learn that the perpetrator in the police station is Officer Meekins. Okay. Did we really need a flashback to Edgeworth meeting him when we already had a flashback to Edgeworth meeting him in the trial? I swear, this game misuses flashbacks like nothing else.
- After talking with Meekins, I want him to be executed just so Ill never have to deal with him again.
- Each evidence locker is designed so only one detective can open it. Yeah, that makes complete sense.
- And now Edgeworth is connected to SL-9. SL-9 is the new DL-6.
- Didnt expect the hotel bellboy to come up again.
- I love how Edgeworth complains that the police are in charge of investigation.
- I couldnt get the fingerprint minigame to work, so heres what I eventually resorted to: https://i.imgur.com/IN6S9q7.png
- Fun fact: while trying to find fingerprints on the locker, I thought Id be clever and tilt my screen so the colors would stand out more. All that did was reveal actual fingerprints on my own screen.
- The day ends with us discovering Marshalls fingerprints on a bloodstain that was wiped away. Dun dun dun!

- Damon: There was a suspect. Just arrested him, in fact! Phoenix: That was quick. Based on this world, that was in fact very slow.
- Look, I mean, guys This is like the second time in one game youve been shocked at something being upside-down. Maybe you should just make a new rule that says to turn all evidence upside-down when you get it.
- Gant tells us the knife is from a long-since solved case stolen from the evidence room. Okay, its obviously from that case from two years ago Goodman and Lana were on. Im guessing Goodman took it to investigate it because he didnt like the result of the case.
- Judge: Try to understand, Wrighto.
- Game Youre not allowed to have me press Gants statement so he says the guy was murdered in the evidence room, then link the knife to the case with a brand new Gant piece of testimony that looks like youre supposed to press or present evidence, then expect me to press the first statement again when theres no indication to do so. Im banning you from doing that again, you hear? That was the first time I had to look up a walkthrough. I didnt even do that for 1-3!
- Phoenix asks for the victims ID number, and Gant actually gives it because we keep a tight lid on ID numbers. This time Im not laughing at legal misrepresentation in the game, I swear, the law aspect and the law enforcement aspect of criminality are separate, so Im laughing at the police misrepresentation aspect.
- I really like how the camera lingers on Gant smiling every so often, where you can just tell hes seething. When he finally gets slightly annoyed at Edgeworth and has the sprite of adjusting his tie, its great. He reminds me of the mayor from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, whos always super affable even as hes turning into a demon or whatever. I liked this personality to the point where I wasnt happy with him calling Edgeworth un-Worthy, but ah well.
- Normally, you submit a list of evidence to be used before the trial If these games have taught me anything, its that judges are okay with lawyers throwing new evidence into the case at any point, especially by surprise.
- We prove that Goodman was killed in two different locations at exactly the same time, which is apparently what Gant wanted all along. Im bringing this up because the game kind of presents Edgeworths side here as if hes in the wrong, but I mean the way that evidence is presented by the idiot cop implies Edgeworth isnt.
- I mean, I accept that this forces a delay in the trial, thats fine But is no one going to ask Gant about how the body traveled thirty minutes in three minutes?

- I need to ask, is there some cultural thing I dont get about these boxed lunches Angel Starr constantly hands out? Its definitely being played as a joke, but I just dont get it at all.
- I was going to make a joke about how few spaces there are in the underground parking lot, but then I remembered the automatic car loader thing.
- Is the judge different? He seems less I dont know, professional?
- The yet another boyfriend position is still open for applicants.
- I just realized why this cross-examination feels weird. No one is constantly objecting to my questions for the witness. Edgeworth and von Karma did that all the time.
- Wait a second, the picture Starr took is supposed to ACTUALLY be black-and-white? I just assumed the previous black-and-white pictures had been stylistic things. Not even in 2001 were there black-and-white cameras around.
- Objection.
- I need to prove that the murder wasnt premeditated, so I use Edgeworths parking stub that proves his car (and thus the knife) only got there three minutes before the murder took place. And yet the game says that doesnt contradict anything and penalizes me. I then just guess the correct evidence to use by choosing the knife. Very disappointed in you, game.
- The prosecution could care less. Goddamn you, Edgeworth, and your weak grammatical consistency.
- Im liking this gag of Edgeworth objecting over Phoenixs objections and saying what he was going to say.
- Phoenix thinks Ultimately, we couldnt shake off the most important part of her testimony, and Ema then asks The most important part? Note to self: Ema is a secret telepath.
- Even though we blew a huge hole in Starrs testimony, everything just continues like shes a reliable witness? ****ing Los Angeles.
- Phoenix I mean, she could have seen Lana using the phone behind the partition while climbing over the fence. Its stupid and implausible, but itd be par for the course for this game And she never even explains why she lied about where she was.
- Goddammit, game, theres so much evidence here that blows holes in her testimony that Im apparently not allowed to use.
- We submit the shoe for evidence despite not actually being 100% sure the blood on it is Lana Skyes, man, these are the most incompetent people ever.
- I dont know why its not there, Im just good at finding contradictions.
- I do enjoy Phoenix always acting like he has decisive evidence and his thoughts being like oh godddd.
- You know, I just realized, how was Lana able to access Edgeworths trunk anyway?
- Woah, did that muffler joke exist in Japanese? I have to assume it didnt.
- I selected the piece of cloth in the muffler in the photo, but I realize I should have selected the shoe, since thats clearly the opposite shoe. I thought it might be, but I didnt want to lose health choosing the wrong thing.
- When the trial resumes, the Chief of Police Damon Gant arrives. He acts super casual and nice. 100% chance he did it. Calling it now, whatever the crime actually is, he did it.
- He gives us the muffler that was stuffed in the muffler and a broken switchblade. He then says the switchblade is special, but he cant say how unless its linked to this case But the evidence says it was wrapped in Lanas muffler? I have no idea whats going on here.
- He also tells us that there was a murder at the police department at the exact same time Goodman died, and everyone is like whaaat?

Stopping for the moment.

It has a lot of changes from previous games, don't worry about that. Mechanically, classes are more complicated now. I'd say the maps a little weak, though, it's still mostly 'kill everything' or 'kill the boss.'

Yeah, 1-5 is definitely a bit of whiplash after the first four cases.

I don't really like Ema as a sidekick to Phoenix though. Like you said, she's just too dumb sometimes. Phoenix and Maya instantly had this chemistry together, but he and Ema just don't.
I assume Maya returns first thing in the second game.
