2005 was the first year of the DS
I meant that I thought the GBA games were available in America. But if the games were all already out before 2005 and the translators knew how things would progress, why change the setting to Los Angeles knowing how Japanese things get later?

Anyway, since 1-5 was created later than the other cases in the first three games, that kind of explains why it has a different feel. It jumps ahead a bit in the development of the series' maturity.
I could tell right away that it felt completely different from the rest of the cases, but I didn't know the background. I thought PW was available in America earlier than 2005.

- Oh my god, the production value of this case is way higher than the ones before. Theres movement in the sprites.
- Two months since the Edgeworth case and no trials, huh?
- A girl named Ema shows up and says her sister is in trouble and needs a lawyer. Im just gonna say this right away: everything about this case feels different from the previous ones. The music especially, but also just how shes designed. Is this supposed to feel more anime-y than the previous cases? Because Maya was already at 100% anime levels, yet Ema somehow exceeds that.
- Youre THE Phoenix Wright from the Edgeworth murder case? Thats a relief then! Youre better than nobody!
- Man, the guard in the detention center hasnt moved an inch in two months. What a professional.
- We meet Lana, the chief prosecutor for the district and soon to be defendant in a murder trial. Phoenix is like This is similar to Mia and Maya lol. But Im just wondering why a lawyer has medals on her jacket. Also, shes like twenty, isnt she? At least when the lawyers are twenty, theyre just lawyers, not responsible for overseeing every case in the district.
- Lanas like dont take the case, but you can take the case I guess.
- Thank god I have another airheaded teenage girl following me around.
- You know what else I just realized, I was feeling like this setup was familiar the whole time, and I just recognized it: Sae and Makoto from Persona 5. Lana even has the same hair and Ema has the same scholastic and police interest.
- Man, even the parking lot feels different from the previous cases. The coloring is off and therere a million things to interact with in the background.
- I love how the wallet is hastily stuffed into pocket instead of added to court record.
- Ahhhh a 3D object
- For reasons I cannot comprehend, the ID card inside of the wallet is blurry so you cant read it, but Phoenix then reads it so you can tell what it says. And another part of the ID card isnt even blurry!
- We meet Extremely Suspicious Woman, also known as Angel Starr, and I love the rice balls in her hat.
- Oh no, two new sprites for Edgeworth, Im out of my comfort zone here.
- That flashback to Edgeworth in the courtroom is GARBAGE. He did NOT have that many frames of animation when pointing his hand.
- Its against my policy to discuss evidence with the defense. I know I said I wouldnt bring up real law in this game, but I cant resist. I mean, thats to say nothing of having the prosecutor be the guy whose car was used in the crime.
- Oh my God, theres a goofy-looking cop with a completely different animation style than the rest of the game, this is really off-putting.
- Is the goal with Ema to create a character dumber than Maya?
- Game, dont use the word comedienne. No one does.
- I like how it takes until I give the wallets ID card to Gumshoe for anyone to tell me the victims name.
- I like how the only explanation for Marshalls cowboy outfit is that hes from West LA. I am in West LA literally right this second and I can tell you the only thing its full of is Asian restaurants and one-story houses. Later Marshall says hes from Texas. Thats okay, though. I knew a kid in high school born in LA who always dressed like a ****ing cowboy and told me that he was moving to Houston the second he turned eighteen. He actually did it, too.
- People keep mentioning two years ago without giving me details, Im sure that nothing important happened then.
- I know the games not REALLY set in LA, but Ive never seen one of those robotic car loading parking lot things in my life outside of a movie.
- I refuse to believe that, even in 2001, the police would have difficulty tracking down the owner of a phone number. Especially since Phoenix reveals a second later that its Emas!
- Prosecutors get the big bucks. Average salary of a prosecutor according to Google: $65179. Big bucks indeed.
- Phoenix, shut up, you could not possibly identify that as a 6-7S. That looks like a 6-75 to me.
- Okay, so apparently Lana stabbed a detective to death shed worked with two years ago after calling him to the underground parking lot when he was supposed to be at the police station with Edgeworths knife and stuffed the body into his trunk at 5:15 on the same day he got the King of Prosecutors trophy that has a broken tip and also she injured her hand while doing it and Edgeworth entered the parking lot at 5:12, and then Lana tried to call her sister at 5:18. Im sure none of these details will be important later.

1-5 is also one of the least-intuitive cases as far as what to do/where to go next goes. There were several spots where I was banging my head against the wall von Karma style wondering what the hell I needed to do to make the game progress.

- I like how Phoenix acts like defense attorney is an inherently more ethical job than a prosecutor.
- When something smells, its usually the Butz.
- You know, Im glad we got Phoenixs backstory and whatever, but am I alone in thinking that its odd to introduce the main characters backstory 95% of the way through the game?
- Im the only one who knows the real Edgeworth. Im the only one who can help him. This is the most yaoi thing Ive ever read in my life.
- I highly illegally open up the caretakers safe and find a letter explaining exactly how to kill Hammond and frame Edgeworth for it. Edgeworth is like My nightmare of killing my father is real, I killed him when I threw him a gun and it went off.
- Grossberg is like Dude I dont know why Edgeworth and I never mentioned this before, but Edgeworths dad tried to implicate von Karma in forged evidence, also this letter was written by von Karma.
- Even accidental murder is still murder. Youre the worst lawyer on Earth, Grossberg. Literally no one would convict a seven year-old for throwing a gun to help his father whos being attacked by a crazy guy, then the gun going off and killing the father.
- Sounds like Detective Gumshoe is really pounding the pavement!
- Ahhhhh Ive never seen von Karma from this angle before, I didnt know he had more than one sprite.
- Can I just say, the idea that von Karma doesnt bother remembering defense lawyers because theyre so easily crushed is such good character work.
- I attempt to not present the letter from the safe to von Karma, because thats obviously insane and stupid and no one would ever do that, but the game apparently cannot progress unless I do, so he stuns us with a taser. I lose the letter, but gain the murder bullet from DL-6.
- GodDAMMIT, I was going to type out how Phoenix uses evidence unnecessarily to prove that the caretaker is Yanni Yogi instead of just taking the guys fingerprints, but then the game actually does that and explains why it wont work.
- I knew it. The parrot takes the stand.
- It must hurt to be ignored by a bird.
- Hello! Hello! Certainly the most concise testimony weve had so far.
- I like the image of von Karma sneaking into the caretakers shack and secretly retraining a parrot not to talk about DL-6 even though there is no way he could have ever known about that.
- I set my ATM cards number to 0001 because Im number one!
- von Karma mentions his seven year-old granddaughter. But I know from B8 that he has a sixteen year-old daughter in the next game or two. Robbing that cradle, I see.
- Gah, Yanni Yogis true form is unexpected.
- Oh my god, this is literally that meme.
https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/886/724/88f.jpg
- von Karma seems awfully level-headed for losing his first case.
- Now, now, Mr. von Karma, save your surprise for after youve seen the evidence.
- It was something else that made that bullet hole in the door. You just said it was a bullet hole!
- Mias ghost or whatever reaches out to Phoenix, Im unclear on exactly what happens here.
- I can tell youre grasping, yet I cannot deny the possibility of what you say.
- Seeing von Karmas frightened sprite is actually really satisfying. Then his freakout sprite and smashing his head against the wall. I said this before, but this game is good as presentation.
- I love the irony of Phoenix and Edgeworth both misunderstanding the cases that affected their lives and becoming the opposite type of lawyers they should have been.
- Maya leaves on a train to continue working as a spirit medium, and the game ends with an epilogue describing how the train was involved in a horrible accident and everyone aboard was tragically killed, leading Phoenix to a life of alcoholism and depression.
- The defense attorney for whom I wrote that affidavit for! Goddammit, bellboy.
- What the crap, the next episode doesnt have Turnabout in its name?

- I was taking a meaningful pause before speaking!
- Look, I understand that the world this game takes place in is wacky and nothing matters, but come on. This boat shop owner is literally the least reliable witness in the history of fiction.
- Jesus Christ, von Karmas surprised/angry face is a thing of beauty. I didnt see that one coming.
- I love how terrible Larrys testimony is.
- We should care! Why? Well how do you know if you dont try?
- Two sets of gunshots ahhhh okay but then why did Lotta not notice the first set in her car?
- I selected the row of boats as the place where the murder took place, thinking it would be considered the same by the game as the boat shop. When it wasnt, I had to select basically everywhere else before finally realizing the boat shop is different from the boats. Guess Im dumb!
- I like how the boat shop caretaker is the murderer, I didnt expect that. I thought it would somehow be von Karma.
- I like how this murder is so unbelievably convoluted that multiple characters pause the game in order to explain it in excruciating detail so you can follow it.
- One thing I dont understand, did we get an explanation of why Edgeworth didnt just say the guy shot the water twice, then dove in? I remember him saying his memory was hazy, but not an explanation for why it was hazy.
- Edgeworth admits that hes had a nightmare of committing muuuurdeeeerrrrr. To be continued?!

- Lotta is like Yo dawg Ill progress the plot for you if you prove Gourdy doesnt exist, and Gumshoe is like Heres three objects that can do that. I choose the fishing pole because it seems the most useless.
- You outta your doggone mind? Yes!
- After the fishing rod and dog prove useless (or at least I couldnt figure out how to use them), I take the metal detector. Even the description is the only one that calls it useful.
- Finally, we prove that Gourdy is just Larrys stupid inflatable doll.
- We go into the boat crazy caretakers shack. He has a parrot that will be perfect for calling as a witness later. Even if you told me the parrot doesnt get called as a witness, I wouldnt believe you. Ive never been more certain of anything than I am that that parrot is going to be a witness.
- Ah, the traditional American kotatsu.
- The parrot talks about DL-6 as we leave. Im calling it here: this is the guy accused of killing Edgeworths father who got off. Someone mentioned earlier that he disappeared, and we never learn this guys name (at least today).
- Game, I just saw the parrot talk about DL-6, do you have to give me a flashback to it when I speak to Gumshoe not even three minutes later?
- Finally, we learn about DL-6. Fifteen years ago, there was an earthquake that rocked the courthouse. Three people were stuck in an elevator: Edgeworth, his dad who'd just lost a court case, and a guy named Yanni Yogi who's probably the old man because he had brain damage from oxygen deprivation. When they were pulled out, Edgeworths dad was dead and the survivors were unconscious. A pistol was in the elevator, and had been fired twice Just like this current case.
- The game skims over Edgeworth's dad losing his court case, but I'm guessing it was against von Karma. How do I know this? Because von Karma is the only remaining evil person with a sprite.
- The biggest revelation of this incident is that Edgeworth has not changed his haircut in 15 years. Im not even making fun of that, thats something I can absolutely see him doing. I also love how his dad is dressed normally, but even at like nine years old Edgeworth is dressed like a pompous noble.

One of the cool little touches with Vasquez is that she gets the slightly lower "male" boops when she speaks instead of the higher "female" boops, implying she has smoker's lung
Ha, I missed that.

- After skipping through almost the entire first day as fast as possible, I finally get to where I was before. Lotta Hart is proven to be full of it, and Phoenix demands she show the photo enlargement. And of course, the guy shooting in the enlargement is using his left hand.
- Its well-presented when you finally get a victory over von Karma and his objection is overruled.
- The judge is like Well, I guess Edgeworth couldnt have fired the gun that night. Really? I mean, Ill take it, but that seems kind of premature. von Karma could have just said Edgeworth is secretly ambidextrous, fired the first shot with his right hand, and then used his left hand for the second. Tell me that wouldnt fit in this game. Instead we learn that Hammond couldnt have killed himself because he was shot from a meter away.
- A meter?! Thats three feet!
- Court is adjourned.

- The next day, at the trial, were introduced to von Karma, the prosecutor, whos never lost a case. This is funny, because I actually know that in reality, lawyers who never lose or who have crazy win rates almost always only have those rates because they never take iffy cases, not because theyre actually super skilled.
- von Karma is apparently a 19th century Prussian nobleman.
- I like how ridiculously strict and direct he is, and how he intimidates the judge, and how he sustains his own objection.
- Gumshoe goes out of his way to specify that the fingerprints on the gun are from Edgeworths right hand. Chance of Edgeworth being left-handed: 100%.
- In private, Edgeworths like I heard a gunshot from nearby, then the other man fell from the boat, somehow I thought hed shot himself.
- Holy crap, I just realized how big Mayas ear is in the shot where she looks sad.
- Lotta Harts testimony is crap, and only Maya can interrupt to say so. The most important part of this is how awful Lotta Harts surprised sprite is. Like shes just sort of laying backwards and sort of closing her eyes but not all the way, its easily the worst sprite in the game so far. The power of Mayas complaining gets Lotta to accidentally change her testimony and let me cross-examine her again.
- I will not take to you badgering my witness because of her challenged intellect! What you have used several minutes of our precious time to prove is nothing more than that the witness is an idiot who thinks monsters exist!

I then saved the game to set the computer down for a second, reloaded the game, and it told me my save was corrupted. When I loaded it again, all data was gone, and it wants me to restart from Episode I. I'm, uh, I'm not on board with that.

Episode IV: Turnabout Goodbyes
- We begin with what cant even be kindly described as a cutscene: two men are in a boat, one shoots the other, and Edgeworth is holding the gun.
- The next day, Phoenix and Maya are screwing around in the law office as the news talks about Gourdy, the monster that lives in Gourd Lake then the news announces that Edgeworth arrested for murderrrrrrr.
- Edgeworth phases into the detention center from another dimension (seriously, is it too much to ask for him to just be there instead of slowly appearing from nowhere?) and tells us that he doesnt us defending him, but in terms that just seem kind of yaoi to me.
- At the park, Gumshoe explains that 15 minutes after midnight, two men were in a boat on the lake. One man shot the other with a pistol, and when a cop arrived, he arrested Edgeworth because there was a mysterious witness.
- We take some party poppers, which are not very clue-worthy. Chance of them coming up later: 100%. I actually expected them to come up later, instead of immediately when we find a camera by the shore. An angry redneck named Lotta Hart complains that we activated her camera for meteor showers. Why does a camera set to go off for meteor showers go off at loud noises? I bet thats a lie and it comes up later.
- We go to the police department Police departments have mascots? Ive never heard of that. Eventually, Gumshoe gives us a photo of the victim, and Maya eventually goes This guy worked Grossbergs law office. He had that job and the cops still cant identify him?
- Lotta says Derp de derp I have a picture of the murder but its super vague and hard to see. Whats weird is that she said she has TWO photos, but we only see one. Im guessing the other dramatically comes up later, but come on, Phoenix, you need to ask for more details here.
- Grossberg identifies the dead man as Robert Hammond Bob Ham And? Robbing Ham And? Hm, dont see the pun. Anyway, he says Hammond was the defense attorney in the DL-6 Incident where Mayas mom contacted the ghost of the murdered man. The murdered man: Edgeworths father.
- Heres where I get to flex my completely useless took a bunch of English courses in college muscles and say that in 19th century novels, it was very common to have a million coincidences that make no sense to drive the plot. This reminds me of that.
- Edgeworth finally accepts me as his lawyer, then tells me the details of the DL-6 Incident: his father was shot and killed before his eyes, and only one man could have done it. The spirit medium said the same thing, but Robert Hammond got the guy off. And the statute of limitations on the case runs out in just three days
- Then theres an earthquake, and man, that cop standing in the background is a professional for sure. Edgeworth apparently is afraid of earthquakes.
- After telling Gumshoe were his lawyers, the day ends

Oh, does the localized version take place in LA? Because if so, I have some concerns with how they're portraying us!

Paratroopa1 posted...
You know this is a Japanese game right? They just made music that sounded like it would go to a Japanese tv show about samurai, and she's only enjoying "Japanese culture" in this game because it was localized to take place in LA in the North American version; in the original script she just... likes kids' tv shows
I get that, but she's still dressed like a shrine priestess and watches shows about samurai.

Mm, the wacky characters are pretty endearing, Gumshoe excepted. He's had one good line so far.

- While investigating, I learn that Dee Vasquez became a hot new thing just when Jack Hammers career tanked. HmmmMMMMMmmm Later, Penny tells me that Dee Vasquez was blackmailing him after Hammer caused an accident that killed someone in Studio 2.
- Because its the only way to progress the plot, I show Dee Vasquez the photo of Jack Hammer accidentally killing the dude. She says it wasnt an accident, then calls in some mafia goons to take the photo from me. The most shocking thing in this game is that someone actually drew four unique mafia guys for this scene.
- But then Gumshoe appears (why he was even there is sort of unclear), and even though Dee Vasquez just said she was going to murder us, he just takes her to be a witness.
- In court, Edgeworth calls on Dee Vasquez.
- Again, Im tempted to say that she ate a bone, but instead I just say she didnt eat a steak, because Im boring and playing this straight.
- Then I prove that the spear isnt the murder weapon, which isnt actually what I was planning to prove but luckily my actual intentions are of no importance. This proves that Dee Vasquez met the Steel Samurai and pushed him onto a fencepost the way Jack Hammer killed the other guy years ago, took his body to Studio One in a van, and dressed him as the Evil Magistrate. Thank God I cleverly figured all of this out when I clicked that she couldnt have used a spear.
- Dont ? me!
- Vasquez admits that she might have done it, but wont say, and we need proof. This is during trial that started with way less proof than what I have against her.
- I was hoping to come up with a question while I was objecting, Your Honor I didnt.
- Indeed! Verily, I say Ergo!
- Edgeworth realizes that Dee Vasquez is guilty and decides to help by forcing her to testify about the body and objecting to her lies. Finally, she messes up by saying that Hammer was injured because he was limping when he was only limping to imitate Powers who was actually injured.
- I select that she killed him in self-defense, but then immediately realized I should have selected that she did have a motive because she thought she was killing Will Powers. Oh well. Nevertheless, she admits everything Uh, wouldnt she not be arrested for killing in self-defense? Oh well.
- This is the most yaoi-laden subtext conversation ever between Phoenix and Edgeworth.
- Somehow Will Powers plays the lead in Pink Princess, okay.
- Episode IV is now unlocked. I see a hobo with a parrot. I predict a 1000% chance that I have to call the parrot as a witness during this next trial.

- The trial begins again, with Sal Manella on the stand.
- ROFS? Rolling on the floor starving?
- 15! Thats only 13 in base 12!
- Eventually, I pick apart Codys testimony and prove that he took a picture of the fight, but that the Steel Samurai didnt win, so he deleted it. But the Steel Samurai was the murderer, so what could this beeeeee?
- It could be by having Jack Hammer be the Steel Samurai, and in Studio 2, no less, when it was impossible to enter or exit.
- Please explain so that I might be shocked along with the rest of the court.
- This proves that Jack Hammer had to have been killed by someone in Studio 2, and since only two people there have sprites, it has to be Sal Manella or Dee Vasquez.
- Blah blah blah, I give the empty bottle of sleeping pills to be tested for fingerprints.
- Court adjourns. I understand that the trial has to continue, but doesnt this basically clear Will Powers?

- Nick is a newbie lawyer! Fresh off the bar! When he loses, hes going to lose big! Maya is pretty entertaining.
- Phoenix doesnt have a drivers license? I know so many people online who dont. That is inconceivable where I live.
- I have never in my life heard of an electric bicycle. Is that a real thing?
- For basically no reason, I rip a plank of wood off of a grate to make it easier for kids to sneak in.
- This game needs to be better at telling you where to go. After ripping off the plank of wood, I went to literally every location before Studio 2 again. Later, with no indication, I was supposed to go into Will Powers dressing room to meet the director. Sal Manella, huh? Not, uh, not your best pun name, game.
- What was this guys dialogue in Japanese? I assume 1337 isnt a thing there.
- I like how the Pink Princess not only has boob armor, she has a pink flower painting over each boob to draw your attention.
- I dont think hes the killer, he seems too inept.
- After that, I meet Oldbag again, then a kid whos CLEARLY too large to sneak through the grate he snuck through. Cody runs off, but we find an empty bottle of sleeping pills on the lunch table. Did did everyone just miss those over the course of days?
- Eventually I find Dee Vasquez, who is obviously the murderer, but I cant immediately see her pun name. The Vast Quiz? Someone is going to post the pun and Ill look like a moron for sure.
- After I do the lamest fetch quest ever, she says no one could have left the Studio 2 trailer to kill Jack Hammer because the path was blocked by a fallen tree and monkey statue head. The game shows a picture of the path I talked about earlier being blocked, but come on. This is clearly very easy to get over or around. Anyway, the path was blocked from 2:15-4:00 and the murder happened at 2:30, so she cant be it, but shes obviously the killer anyway.
- Maya channels her sister again, and holy crap, Im sorry but I cant get over how this just causes her boobs to grow five times bigger, its really distracting. Eventually this results in Cody giving us a scrapbook of all of the Samurais victories and telling us that he saw the Steel Samurai kill someone with his spear.
- Phoenix decides not to put the kid on the stand, but it doesnt matter because Gumshoe appears and drags him off to be a witness.
- With that, the day ends.

- Court begins.
- Is Edgeworth the only prosecutor in town? I guess not, there was the guy from the first case.
- I just now realized that the prosecutors get opening statements, but the defense doesnt. What kind of a sloppy court are you running, judge? After this, Edgeworth calls Gumshoe to the stand, and I dont get to cross-examine him. Judgeeeeeeeeeee~
- I produce the photograph to prove that Oldbag doesnt know for sure that it was Will Powers in it, but she says Will Powers hurt his leg and broke a prop spear, and the guy in the photo is dragging his leg therefore, it must be him. But I counter that the photo is labeled #2, so someone erased the other photo. She then explains that there was ANOTHER person who went by. Maya puts it best: Id say this was a turn for the unexpected, but I sort of expected this.
- She explains that there was a little kid who got in through a grate, but everyone says a kid couldnt have lifted the spear. Desperate, Phoenix decides to accuse someone random to keep the case going: Penny the assistant. Edgeworth explains why thats impossible, and the judge kills two of my health bars? I barely even realized it was possible to fail in this game. Instead, I accuse Oldbag.
- This ultimately freaks her out into admitting that the director and producer were there the day of the murder, but she was told by the studio not to talk about them. They were in the Studio Two trailer during the murder.
- Court is adjourned so we can investigate the other people.
- Im calling it now: the person in the Steel Samurai outfit was Jack Hammer. He was angry at Will Powers for being more successful than him and was going to frame him for some other crime, then the director and producer killed him for some reason because they thought he was Will Powers.

Episode III: Turnabout Samurai
- Ive already seen the word turnabout more times in this game than I have in the last ten years combined.
- Maya is excited about a TV show for ten year-olds about samurai. I guess if you dress like her, youre obligated to be obsessed about Japanese culture. Are you allowed to call actually Japanese people weebs? Ive never thought about this before. By the way, this music, this is like if an American level had like bald eagle screeching and a country twang for the music.
- Maya is 17? I thought she was older. Shouldnt she be in like high school?
- Maya calls me in the middle of the night, saying that the actor for the Steel Samurai was arrested, and demands I come to the law office immediately. I do, and its bright outside the window. Come on, game, I know you have a night version of this office already.
- We find out from the news that Will Powers (the Steel Samurai) was arrested for killing Jack Hammer (the Evil Magistrate) with a prop spear.
- Wait, Mayas personal cell phone is the law offices cell phone?!
- Man, that same guard is always on duty in the detention center. Good for him.
- It seems like it was only yesterday. Actually, it was only yesterday. That joke is literally like seventy years old or more.
- I have no idea why specifically Will Powers hired us, but he lays out the case: the cast arrived at 10:00 AM to do some action sequences, they had a rehearsal at 5:00 PM, but when 5:00 PM arrived, the Evil Magistrate was found dead with a hilarious hole in his prop chest, Jesus Christ, thats the best piece of comedy so far. Will Powers came to the studio at 9:00 AM, broke his prop spear (dun dun dun?), then took a nap after practicing a bit. When he woke up, Jack Hammer was dead.
- We go to Global Studios and meet a cranky old lady working security. She explains some stuff I dont want to repeat because its clearly important detail stuff that would take forever to type. Eventually we get in and get a map of the studio.
- Man, am I supposed to feel bad for Detective Gumshoes feelings getting hurt when Maya calls him a sloppy detective? Hes like the worst!
- Hey! You cant just go around saying pal like that!
- We see that the path to the unused Studio 2 is blocked by a tree and a statue head. Am I insane for thinking thats not blocked? Like you can clearly just step around the tree, and thats if you dont want to just go onto the grass, which you could easily do.
- Jesus Christ, game, if youre going to add the ability to slide the camera over when inspecting a room, at least highlight the option.
- In Studio 1, we meet Penny, the assistant and murder suspect. She tells us about how they went over an action sequence in the morning, then ate lunch. More importantly, she says someone else was watching the scene, but she doesnt know who. Whom? She doesnt know whom.
- Hahaha, I was paying attention and wrote down the security cameras number. Nice try, game. We get a photo from the security ladys desk, but its Photo #2. Dun dun dun? Anyway, the photo shows someone in the Steel Samurai costume with the spear, but the legs are clearly too short.
- Phoenix seems to think the killer is the security lady, but she doesnt have the right face for it. Its either Penny the assistant or someone who hasnt shown up yet, probably the latter.

Unless people really want me to, I'm just going to play 1-5 after 1-4. I know it was added in a rerelease later, but assuming it's part of the continuity, I see no reason to skip it for later.

dare you to go do case 2-1 now instead of 1-2

and then after 1-2, do 3-1 before finishing out the first game.
Sounds confusing and bad.

Can you prove that nothing happened to it between then and now? Even if it was taken into evidence right after the murder, maybe the clock broke when it was used as a murder weapon or something
It couldn't have broken, it was used right then and there, dammit.

The game takes place in 201...6?
Ehhh, I usually forgive things not knowing how future technology will progress.

- Privately, Edgeworth tells me that hell do anything for a guilty verdict because its impossible to tell whos guilty and innocent. Yeah, that makes sense.
- I am the CEO, or to use the more common term, President, of Bluecorp! I know the joke is that he doesnt know the difference, but I wonder how many people actually dont.
- Redd White says that Mia ran to the left, but April May said to the right. Instead of just saying she was wrong, this really trips him up. Another good detail: all of Redd Whites shiny jewelry is dull when he makes a surprised face.
- I was actually curious if you can object to an objection, so I asked my dad (a lawyer) who happens to be in the room with me. He said no over the course of three minutes by offering a needlessly detailed explanation of how you respond to an objection that you dont agree with. Hes a lawyer, my sisters a lawyer, my moms a court reporter Now, thats a detail the game doesnt include, court reporters. I guess theyre a bit less glamorous than lawyers and judges, though.
- I eventually prove that White had to have been in the office because he saw a light stand, but Edgeworth tells me to confess to putting the wiretap another day and seeing the stand then.
- Maya channels her sisters ghost, and in the process her boobs quintuple in size. She tells me to look at the back of the receipt to see that she bought it the day before she was killed, which contradicts Whites testimony But a better question is why, if Phoenix was the killer, she would write Maya on the receipt.
- Even with this, the judge is like Whatever, well hold Phoenix another day so Edgeworth can look at more evidence, and White can go home, so Mia gives me a list of people White forced to kill themselves. White confesses, the judge declares Im not guilty, and someone throws confetti from the ceiling?
- That night, Mias ghost decides that Maya will be my new assistant, and the chapter ends.
- It's a bit interesting how Redd White is only defeated through magical shenanigans, and how something that would normally be endgame stuff (avenging your mentor) is like the first thing you do.
