I don't give a fuck about Greta Thunberg. Again, anyone focusing on her and getting mad at her being the embodiment of a movement has no interest in a discussion. Experts and people that aren't Greta have been talking about climate change for decades and leaders and corporations have been suppressing the the evidence and solutions because it hurts their bottom line. And all skeptics want to do is write the issues off as no big deal and lie that they would be on board if the damn tree huggers just said the words the right way.

The idea that all climate change activists have is crying girls yelling at world leaders is the definition of a bad faith argument. It's like saying everyone wants you to starve when you just threw out a lifetime supply of food they donated. No one can make you eat.

I'm all for doing something about climate change, but we need to start having real discussions about what climate change is and how exactly it will play out. Then we need to formulate what our response to that will be. Once you get to this point, you realize that Thunberg only functions as a motivational speaker and people holding her up as a messiah are some real idiots.

Combatting climate change is an incredibly complex thing. Remember that our entire economy is built the way it is and changing that to combat climate change can have its own negative effects we need to worry about too. We can't just suddenly take all cars off of the road and tear down and rebuild every single building out there.

Again, people have been fucking talking about climate change for decades. Every year we blow it off makes it more and more likely to make drastic attempts to combat it.

Anyone that tries to turn Greta Thunberg into the entire climate change debate is not interested in actually addressing anything.

It is funny how media portrayals of gay folks make it look like there's FAR more than there actually are. I mean, stats put it at 2% but we can double that to 4% if we consider people not reporting...yet it feels like there's a gay couple in like every ad and TV show we see now. If it's 4% of all people, why is it like 40% of all people are gay in media? This is always funny to me.

Do you complain about the over representation of beautiful people in Hollywood? Why aren't the statistical majority of characters in media that takes place in America overweight and average to ugly? We love quotas now as long as they match the US census?
