A battle between witches. Teacher can somehow go and talk to Battler in the middle of the fight. It's like they're all sitting in front of a TV show of themselves and pausing from time to time to discuss it.

I'm sure the witches, demons and Battler stuck in Purgatory perceive the games occurring one after another in sequence. Thanks to some 'corrosion', Beatrice gets stronger and can summon more minions every game; Kumasawa/Teacher didn't awaken and died, but can return with enough magic around. With this logic, Beatrice probably was very weak in Ep1, and I'm still convinced there was a human killer back then at minimum.

Way back when I was starting ep 1, I took a wild guess and said Kumasawa = Beatrice. Apparently I was right all along! Sort of.

Kumasawa knows magic. And she is Teacher. WHAT

Rip Gohda. They're going after all the servants, the roulette is so rigged.

Unless they have to be killed by magical beings, which Genji qualifies

Oh and Kanon and Shannon were killed by Genji and still count as sacrifices. I take it to mean that the ceremony will still work if the humans kill each other or commit suicide. That would be more fun to watch than Beatrice kills everyone with magic.

The scene of the 3 servants dying retreads a lot of ground from ep2- Kanon fighting, Shannon barrier, attacked by the Ass Nee-Chans, Beatrice triggered by Shannons speech again. I was going to complain, but the way they died was new and made this all worth it.

Awesome that Genji and Ronove stepped in at the right moment, Beatrice needs to be taken down a peg or two. I remember Genji was created with the help of demons, so perhaps Ronove had a hand in that.

I went and read Lucifer's profile and it says she's a masochist? Doesn't look like she's enjoying this at all.

Stake sisters are humiliating the oldest one, yeah yeah, get on with it already.

Not that it matters, Beatrice is probably going to send in goats or the rest of the Ass Nee-Chans and tell Kanon he has to beat all of them. It would be too easy to guess who survives if Kanon gets to choose.

Ok, I never thought he would actually beat the stake.

Kanon got stronger, does something from last episode carry over for the furniture-servants too?

It would seem that, for Beatrice, Ronove and maybe the Ass-Nee Chans, they can appear both in purgatory and the real world simultaneously, and are fully aware of the past games.

Without Beatrice in the mansion in the beginning I was hoping that this would be more of a mystery and less action like episode 1, looks like that's not going to happen.

Ronove is joining in too. If more demons get introduced, the mansion will get very crowded before the killing even starts in episode 8.

Beatrice could just waltz in Kinzo's study even with the protected door as long as Kinzo got picked. Those charms are not very useful.

His death is also similar to that of Episode 1.

Even if Kinzo was sacrificed early, Beatrice still goes to see him. Last episode, he survived to see Beatrice and got eaten anyway. Is there even a point to this whole ceremony, seeing that Kinzo's sole objective is to see Beatrice one more time?

When the servants were outside the door I thought Kinzo was already dead. Then they went in and he wasn't and I thought I got tricked. Then he burst into flames and I realized I was tricked into thinking I got tricked.

The last few hours is a huge info dump. I honestly thought these would come much later. Don't know why Beatrice had to tell such a long story just to say, in red, that there are 18 humans.

According to Beatrice, Kinzo's ceremony was a reaction to her escape around 20 years ago. I can still point out some contradictions: the portrait and epitaph were clearly related only to the ceremony, but was placed more than 20 years ago. The chapel, which should be used for the ceremony as well, was already built/under construction more than 20 years ago. And somehow, Kinzo knew that Beatrice would have regained enough of her power to take part.

The ceremony is a way to fulfill the contract, but was thought up only as Beatrice escaped, so there should be an original plan for Beatrice to take Kinzo's assets.

Battler has the ability to view Rosa's story as a dead body. Purgatory is a weird place.

Forgot to mention how creepy it is for Kinzo to raise a girl with the purpose of fucking her. Beatrice with amnesia thought him more as a father/friend.

It also implies that the contract and trapping Beatrice are independent incidents, but I dont think this is the case. There must be more to this story that was purposely withheld from Battler.

Kinzo makes a contract with Beatrice, later he traps her in a mansion, and when she becomes a soul he traps her in a human body. At some point she escaped and got everything back, I think, so Kinzo started the ceremony to see her again.

Couple of things dont add up for this sequence. First, an amnesiac Beatrice would not be able to fulfil her contract with Kinzo when the time comes. Second, Kinzo prepared for the ceremony a long time ago like in the 1940s by building the chapel, hanging the portrait, and displaying the epitaph, before or during the time Beatrice was trapped.

So Kinzo needs to have anticipated Beatrice getting away anyway and prepared for the ceremony beforehand, or he was trying to meet the terms of the contract before changing his mind and improsoning Beatrice, but decided to continue preparations anyway.

These long ass shounen anime get a ridiculous amount of filler just to avoid catching up with the source material.

While Human Beatrice existed in 1967, nothing was said about her status in 1986. Its also strange to see Battler trying reason out a human Beatrice in the present while witch Beatrice is right there, but thats something he has to do to deny witches.

Minus the killing and torture, Battler is getting on very well with the magical beings...

In hindsight, I should have noticed something odd about the mansion in the opening scene. Beatrice claims to have lived 1000 years, that kind of architecture shouldnt exist around the year 986.

Looks like it's the end of this very informative flashback. I still don't know a lot of other details yet. What's with Beatrice's Teacher? How did she finally escape and regain her memories and powers?

In 1967, in a hidden mansion on Rokkenjima, Beatrice existed as a human. Putting this here because it looks very important.

Kinzo is the worst kind of stalker. In real life, he would lock up a woman in a hidden room, and if she commits suicide, he would freeze the body and put it on display or something.

Or after she died, Kinzo would find a girl to raise and replace her.

Ronove is supposedly serving Beatrice but doesn't give a fuck about her orders. I like him.
