I've never known and scarcely heard of a communist who hid their intentions, and historically they're very open about what they want. If they want to eat the rich, invade the Bastille, abolish police and prisons, they'll generally say it in a free forum. Fascists, on the other hand, purposefully hide their "power level" as part of a campaign for public approval no matter how free the forum - its only in private that they strive to reveal their true colors, or so they aim. Conservatives and capitalists are the same way; see Lee Atwater or PragerU. The ironic thing about this is that communists and the far left in general are the ones credited for trying to subvert democracy when its a pretty open secret that fascists strive to use democracy's weaknesses against it in order to destroy it. There's also pretty obvious ideological differences between the two, though obviously the overlaps of totalitarian communism and any other authoritarian or totalitarian regime will manifest. --- WhOs gOnNA gET hIs sPeciAL boWlinG bALl? |
