I used to keep most of my N64 and Game Boy boxes just for fun (though I think that some were thrown out anyway). But at the time I acknowledged that this was just me being weird and/or overly enthusiastic about video games and that this probably wasn't the standard practice for most people.

But getting rid of the cases for disc-based games? I still don't get that. I would never keep them in anything else.

Traditionally my answer for this year was always Team Kirby Clash Deluxe. However, recently this year I have started playing Splatoon 2 which I guess retroactively takes my top spot.

I do want to give a big HM to Team Kirby Clash Deluxe for being basically everything that I want from a single-player video game. It faced a large amount of undeserved criticism which I have and will continue to defend it from.

Nice work B8, I don't make the cut there but at least I'm a Top Five Tagger

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com./user.php?db=.5.user=%21/badges/54-tagger

This one's weird because under the current system, you can do it as much as you want to boost your badge level almost infinitely (supposedly there's a data cap that counts the cumulative number of characters you use for all your tags).

The old system just gave you the max level badge after 500 tags.

It's actually surprising that there's such a spread in the top 100. If you go to the Visitor badge (simply logging in daily), it's tied at >100 people, so I'd have thought that more of them would also post daily without skipping days.

TopicThe purge rate on this board changed

Hmm, the new purge rates don't seem to work the way I thought they would. We actually went above 400 topics for the first time prior to this morning's purge, so I thought that meant the entire board would switch over to a 5 day purge rate and kill off an ass load of topics (over 100 of them). But we only lost around 20 topics from the most recent purge.

This seems to prove that we don't have a universal purge rate for the entire board based on the current number of topics, like with the old system when it was based on message count. I suppose it's better that way as we wouldn't lose a massive number of topics as a result of moving into a higher purge rate schedule, but also makes things more complicated in determining which topics will purge each night and which ones are still safe.

The position matters. Topic 400 isn't on the same purge as topic 401 even if they were bumped at the same time.

The way it's worded makes me think the system is slightly different: whether a topic is purged when the cleanup system runs depends on both the position of the topic on the topic list and how long ago the topic was last posted in.
For example, assuming 50 topics per page, any topic on Pages 5-8 that hasn't been posted in in over 10 days will be purged. However, if there are topics on Page 4 that are also more than 10 days inactive, they will not be purged at that time. Also, if enough topics build up that the board passes the 401 mark, only the topics on Page 9-15 will be purged at the 5-day mark, while the topics on Pages 4-8 will remain as long as they are still under the 10-day threshold.

Yeah, this is how I understand it to work. The position does matter for topics near the thresholds.

However, if there are 350 topics and 348 have been posted in within 10 days, then only 2 topics would purge. Anti-purge bumping is still a thing unless the board has >1000 topics (20 pages), at which point page 21 is unsaveable.
