I contacted my kid's school about making anonymous payments to another kids lunch card but said I couldn't do it. The kid was eventually taken away by child services.
Crazy.

Why would they care where the money's from so long as they get it?

I don't know, that was kind of my thinking as well. They may have known that DFS was already getting involved or they were working something else out because the kid went from eating peanut butter sandwiches to regular meals not long after that, but was taken away from her parents a month or two later.

I seriously doubt it was over a lunch debt.

Improving the thing that deals with over 90% of your digestion doesn't seem like it's equal to putting fluids up your butt, but ok

You're just phrasing it, so it sounds absurd. Doing things to get rid of toxins in your body sounds like it's good for your health, but it doesn't seem like it is. Maybe, the gut-brain connection will be different, who knows.

What "toxins" are you even talking about?

Because that's what your kidneys and liver are for.

Well, I'm not supporting detoxes, I'm just saying what the say. I get that is what your kidneys and liver do.

Or people that claim nature is good, think drinking turpentine evey day is good, and brag that since they started a turpentine regimen, they've been having 3 bowel movements a day. I'm not a medical professional, but that sounds as symptom of poisoning...

How is it current year and people still forget commas? Like, how the fuck do you even do that when you're typing? Do you think about what you're typing or does this shit just pour out of your fingers?

He would be obliged to give it back when he noticed.

True but I thought in this sueing scenario resulted from someone intentionally not informing the bank of the error.

Either way cameras ruin the plausible denialbility

What if they didn't count it? How could they prove they knew of the error?

The answer, as always, to "How will we pay for Medicare For All," is large tax increases across all income levels including the middle class. Framing it as cutting the defense budget or only taxing the rich muddies the waters. $2.5T per year is an enormous amount of money and most of it will have to come from significant middle class tax increases.

No. Our healthcare system is grotesquely overpriced. The answer isn't to throw more money at it.

The rest of the world spends a fraction of what we spend federally on healthcare, and they have universal systems.

Money isn't the solution. It's time to man up and accept that fact.

As I said before, if someone offers to sell you a $1M car, the solution isn't to find a way to raise that much money. The solution is to buy a car at a normal price.

I agree that military expenditures need to be cut, but that's completely irrelevant to the need to address social services spending.

Part of the solution is getting rid of lobbyist that let the insurance and medical industries fuck us.

cause improving your gut microbiome helps alleviate or eliminate certain cognitive problems like brain fog, depression and anxiety. more and more research is coming out on the topic and it definitely helped me personally

How do you know it wasn't the placebo effect?

i dont think that applies here

especially considering the research into it helping curb autistic behavior

its legitimate.

not sure where you get off thinking placebo

Never said it was placebo. According to the medical professionals on this board that research on autism was very flimsy.

What about Trump using loopholes to save money? Why is it savvy when he games they system, but not when lower class do?

The problem is people who don't deserve SSI and food stamps are getting them. With so many people getting them those budgets are getting cut which hurt the people who actually need those services.

The problem is that actually helping people is far more complicated than indiscriminately throwing money at them, which is why the government sucks at helping the poor.

It does help the very needy. These programs are needed. The problem is I see folks with nice cars using food stamps at the grocery store. The programs need reform.

eyeroll.gif

First of all, you seriously have no idea what it takes to get onto food stamps.
Second, cutting every single dollar that is misappropriated (which isn't that much) would not fix ANY issues with welfare, education, or healthcare.

I know people on food stamps. I also know people with family members who work within the system to get them food stamps (who obviously don't need food stamps based on their lifestyle). Very naive of you to think every person who gets food stamps is legitimate.

It's strange that you cut out the part where he addresses misappropriation.

That's the state of our social services budget.

I agree completely, and think it's the same thing for healthcare and education. Like why the fuck does a 10 min doctor's visit cost anyone $100+. Making the government pay for it is just going to offset that cost somewhere else as that shit continues to balloon.
