The kid did not need to have that level of force applied, but she needed to be detained. While being detain she resisted.

The kid was no saint though. 36 minutes of her being unwilling to comply with basic requests from the school before this happened. She had been disputing class to the point were the teachers were unable to teach, she needed an escort to ride home with her on the bus because she was constantly causing trouble, stealing food in the cafeteria, and she wouldn't listen to any teacher or admin at the school. She refused to wait in an office for her mother, wondered the halls wasting tons of people time. She complained about not having a path out of the door while she was halfway out the door, when he admin told her there were plenty of paths she said OK and proceeded to walk through where the admin was standing.

You know who wasn't getting tackled by the police? All the kids sitting in class not disrupting the school. This kid didn't need a talk about the dangers of the police, she needed a talk about how to not be a delinquent.

Even if all that is true, like you said, that level of force was too much.

I would rather no one be in this situation, period. I can't speak for trans people, but I would take a guess that they'd rather have been born as the sex they feel they are, as opposed to be tormented by people and be on hormone treatment the rest of their life. Imagine how terrible that would be.

There are multiple reasons why I wouldn't want my son to go through that.

1: He's been raised as a boy and I am bit selfish in wanting him to remain as my little man.

I'm looking at this from a father position. Well, what it's like being a father myself, anyway. I have a 5 year old son. He's my baby boy, my # 1 son, my little man. It's emotional, having a son. I can't even articulate it accurately. It's just something you have to experience yourself.

This is my son, tho. My boy. As I stated earlier, I find it difficult to explain and articulate in a meaningful way. If he was trans, I would just have to get over it, but I wouldn't be super happy about it.

It's amusing when you consider all the Avengers movies essentially had a character line-up scene. Maybe people should be asking why they are cringing at something cheesy in a popcorn action series adapted from comic books. Or are we going to ignore to sheer amount of cheese contained in those pages?

I thought a lot of shit was cheesy in the series, but no one brings it up, so I don't bring it up lol.

Loki's whole I am your god scene was cheese. Pretty much every slow shot that panned the whole cast mid fight was cheese. This scene in question was cheese.

I didnt hear women complain about the scene, really at all. Quite the opposite actually. I saw a bunch of stories of little girls who loved it

I'm sure they did, which is great. I have a 6 month old daughter and want her to be positively encouraged throughout her life.

But... I also have a 5 year old son and I want the same for him. However, male empowerment is kind of a touchy subject and often met with toxicity. You mention it and you get laughed at like "lol, male empowerment? How fragile are you that you need empowerment? lololololol" Or "males have always been empowered, so you don't need empowerment! lol weak bitch!". Well, maybe that was all true in the past, but that isn't their past, as in little boys of today or those who have yet to be born.

Hopefully, in the future empowerment is okay for everyone. We still have a long and arduous road to equality, and sometimes I wonder if it can ever truly be reached.

A lot of sandbox games do the "Island" tactic. I think it's just easier border control for design purposes.

You can have a preference, just be mindful of how you express it. The current political climate is fragile, so just watch your words.

You can say something like "I don't find *insert race* girls attractive". The race you put in the blank may get you more scrutiny than others. For instance, if the preference happens to be a minority race.

I see. I could see myself getting into it on the right day but my experience with it was underwhelming. Felt like I was playing it just cause I had borrowed it and not really cause I picked it over other stuff. I definitely don't count those Bethesda games in the same category either. But you named a lot of really old games which makes me think you don't play as many open world games as Id qualify as a lot. I meant like 5-10 a year.

I'm lucky if I get to set and play 5-10 games (of any type) in one year, period lol.

Most recent sandbox of this type I played before this one was probably the arkham series, marvels Spider-Man, ghost recon wild lands and breath of the wild. I guess the division if you count that.

Not a big assassins creed fan. I mean, they are good games, I'm just usually playing something else when one drops.

Do you play a lot of open world games? Cause if you're already burnt out on them, you basically feel like you already played this game before even starting it. It isn't the best at anything

I do. Have liked them since Spider-Man 2, then San Andreas really raised the open world bar. There are a few that make me meh, like the just cause series. Just couldn't hook me. Wasn't a fan of sunset overdrive, either. Of course fallout and elder scrolls always hook me, but those are a diff breed of open world games.

Days gone hooked me from the onset. It just feels really well put together. The map is just so good, and not super repetitive like the spider man games (even though I do still love me some spider man)

Why the heavy mixed reviews?

I've been playing over the weekend, and it's p sweet. Lots of story, cool survival elements, really good map. Gameplay reminds me of a mix between tomb raider and the last of us, but placed in sandbox style world.

The weather effects are killer, and it's cool how they actually affect enemy perception. I like the random events, some of which caught me by surprise. The migrating hordes are cool. Its crazy just driving my bike and seeing a rolling mass of freaks off in the distance.

Lots of upgrading via gear purchases and level ups. Tons of optional stuff to do.

I'm really not seeing how it could get even an average review.
