I haven't been to that many live shows, especially not for many big names, but i've never seen a comedian apologize before doing their set, either in a live show or a taped special. there have always been comics that blame society for their own inability to find the same audiences as their contemporaries. When Seinfeld and DL Hughley were popular, the bitching came from the shock jocks or comedians like Andrew Dice Clay bemoaning the fact that comics can't get popular unless their act is marketable as network TV. 20 years from now, you'll still be seeing it from other comics. --- |
