More money in the economy means that money is exchanged more often. That means more money gets into more hands. This upsets supply and demand (more money means more people can demand), and prices naturally inflate to adjust in many cases as long as the product/service isn't super inelastic.

Any credit-based form of money is basically guaranteed to suffer inflation with a significant enough injection into the economy.

you'd have more bills circulating that represented less value, or something

Sure I get that. The question is, exactly how does that money actually get into the economy? How does the government just give people money?

I imagine a lot of it goes to banks and ATMs.

But that still doesn't answer the question. If I have $5,000 in my account, I can only take out $5,000. If I make $50,000 a year, I still only make $50,000 a year. This goes for everyone.

So how, logistically, does printing more money actually get into the economy to make everything more expensive?

So if the mint starts printing 10x the current amount, how exactly does that money get into regular people's hands to start making everything 10x more expensive? It's not like every company will collectively go "okay let's start paying everyone 10x more".

Say the US mint starts printing more money. How exactly does the mint inject this money into the economy to effectively ruin the money's value?

What if they do it quietly? Would it still cause hyper inflation?

Are you supposed to drain the pool in the winter? I feel like people I know who have pools don't drain them because I always see dirty water in the spring when the pools are uncovered. But that could just be accumulation from over the winter.

From researching online, you're supposed to drain the water to below the skimmer. Some drain it below the return for "extra insurance" so that the pipes don't get frozen.

Just letting water out of the pool. No effort required.

How do I just "let water out of the pool"? Looking at my pump skid, I don't see a "drain" option. So I assume I'd have to go get a submersible pump.

It's approximately a 60,000 gallon pool, so I'd need 2x 35,000 gallons making it $100.

This is an inground pool, so plugs for the return jets. Seems like the hardest part is ensuring there's no water left in the pipes, the pump, filter, and heater, which I have no idea how to do.

No idea if this is reasonable or not, since only one company is responding to my request for a quote.

What's included:
*Drain pool below skimmers and returns
*Winterizing the pipes
*Draining and winterizing the pump, heater, and filter
*Pool winterizing kit (chemicals)
*Pillow cover if not owner-provided
*Plugs and various parts if not owner-provided
*Installation of the pool cover

Seems sort of excessive...

So this thread sort of blew up. Here are some more details:
*I am Asian (not Southeast Asian).
*She made the remark after a black male coworker left the lunch (he plays pick up soccer, sponsored by our company, and his team is predominantly black, and has been in the top 3 for the past 4 years they started).
*She does make other race-related jokes (small eyes was directed to me once and asking me where my chopsticks were).
*The race comment three weeks ago was the one that pushed me over the edge I suppose.

Now the company employs over 5,000 people, where her group and my group is made up of ~15 people each. So I could change departments.... Maybe even change to a different location. But I don't want to do that. It's like I'm giving up.

She said something really racist during our lunch meeting, and it bothered me so much. I went to her privately and told her about it; she brushed it off, that it's just a joke / she was "just sayin", and I should be more understanding.

I talked to my manager about it, who brought in my coworker's manager and HR rep. I then filed a formal complaint. She was put on paid leave for one week (she's coming back to work on Monday).

Now everyone in my group and her group, as well as those who were at the lunch, are picking on me... I feel like an idiot. I don't want to go back to HR and say they're picking on me. What do?

What kind of a car can you even get for $7k, that wouldn't be plagued with mechanical issues?
