I dunno. I heard that Unravel 2 was really short, and have maybe 25 hours on it. I heard that Little Nightmares was short, and...I guess it was. And boring. Fuck Little Nightmares.

I don't know why people are so down on this game. From the footage I've seen, it looks like a lot of fun. Graphics are slightly simple, and there probably aren't any new significant ideas, but...so what? Not every game has to be Banjo-Kazooie or SM64.

DDD was a pretty bad level, to be quite honest. Not dreadful. But bad. And there were already a couple of water levels, one of which was great fun. Tiny Huge Island was dreadful. Great concept, very poorly executed. Not much fun to play, awful graphics where the water just stopped 10 metres from the island, and the gusts of wind were cheap as fuck.

Every other level was worth including, and some were excellent, e.g. Tick Tock Clock.

It includes stuff like colonial America, and then covers from 1776 to about 1990. It's over 600 pages long, and the print size is...small. It seems to spend a lot of time on politics, but also has cultural / zeitgeistal content. I'm already VERY knowegable about 20th century America, but what I know about the 19th and 18th centuries isn't too detailed, with some exceptions.

I've read that book more than once, but thought it was really average. Just didn't appeal to me much. Fascinating time period, though.

Gone With The Wind, although Freedom was excellent. Both really bring out American history and culture, and were VERY entertaining in general to read.

I really like The Architect scene in general, but the bit at the end was great.

So. It's like a regular console, except...there's no physical console.

How is this an improvement? What possible advantage could this have, except, of course, taking up less space around your home, which is meaningless, because consoles aren't the same size as FRIDGES. Also, there will probably be problems with lag, internet connections breaking, etc. Plus, there don't seem to be any great first party games.

It's basically the same game as the other ones. It's 3D platforming, with a small amount of exploring. The graphics were in the same style, but improved. You played as more than one character. Just like SA1 (but not SA2) it had a hub world. The main campaign was pretty long, i.e. at least 20 hours. There were cutscenes. Things moved fast.

Explain to me why it's such a horrible, horrible game. But you can't. Because it isn't.

Let's pretend the loading times weren't really bad, and there were no gameplay glitches.

Don't get me wrong. There are some other great levels. Tall, Tall Mountain; Freezeflame Galaxy; Ricco Harbor (uh, in places). But Click Clock Wood is amazing. Fantastic. It would be perfect, if there was more to do in Winter, and if there weren't QUITE as many birds in the other seasons.

I've heard there's someone, and I've had years of people on CE complaining about the company, of course. It's in interesting video, but not as damning as I thought. I mean, the stuff he's describing, I've seen plenty of that stuff at several companies I've worked for (including the video game store I worked for, lulz). I thought his complaints would be...worse. Then again, this might just be SOME guy who worked for GameSpot, rather than THE guy.

I had no idea about this, which is very surprising, because it seems like an extremely important part of Christian history.

Shortly after Jesus' death, Christians divided into 2 factions. There was Paul, who wanted to do things one way; there was James, Jesus' brother, who wanted to do things another way. Basically (this is simplified, of course), James didn't actually think Jesus was the Son of God, but just an important Jewish / Christian leader. Paul thought that Jesus was divine, shepherds and wise men came to visit him on his birth, etc. There was a (non-violent) conflict between the 2 groups, and eventually Paul created what we now consider to be Christianity. The thing is, Paul and many of his people generally didn't actually meet Jesus during his life, and so it gives rise to serious problems with the accuracy of the Gospels. James did. This makes me wonder what kind of a religion I've been encouraged to follow since birth.

Did you know this? Thoughts on all this? I can't believe I didn't know this stuff before. Apologies to any Christians on this board if I got details wrong, or simplified too much.
