That writeup basically cements my lack of interest in Firewatch >_> I was vaguely intrigued by the hype but if there's no conspiracy or paranormal bent, there honestly doesn't sound like there's anything appealing left.

The only time I've used paper straws is when my local milkshake place started using them. I don't know how well they work on regular drinks, but they are completely nonfunctional on milkshakes.

Thankfully they figured this out after a few weeks and went back to normal straws.

Wilder Girls is so good. I love the body horror and the intensity of the atmosphere. It's brutal and claustrophobic and paranoid.

I was kinda disappointed that the girl who could scream at the resonant frequency of bone never really used that power. Like, sure, it would've screwed her up too; but they were killing her slowly, and then killing her quickly, and she could've taken more of them with her.

Having zero time commitment and a non-gaming laptop prevent a XIV playthrough for now

it's only a huge time commitment if you get into the side features of the game (pvp, hunts, etc.)

if you're a dirty casual like me and mostly play through the plot and raid once a week with the static, it's not more of a commitment than any other RPG. well, I guess the main plotline is longer than most RPGs but you're free to take it at your own pace

Yuffie is kinda on an island - she's got own fanbase separate from general FF7 fans. (I'm the anomaly because I really like Cloud/Zack/Seph and I also really like Yuffie. Do Cloud and Yuffie have any other overlap?)

But it's pretty broad-based and if she also managed to pick up general FF7 support she's got a lot of potential.

As for Red, he's one of those guys I like but is always too far down the priority list. Mainly I think the Seto story is well-told, along with Red's mini character arc, and I like the music/aesthetic of Cosmo Canyon. And his design is cool.

I don't think other save mys, outside of SMDC, really capture any of the aura of SMFFFC though. It's just something about the Final Fantasy brand I think, and maybe just the long tradition and history of this particular contest.

It's mostly the history of this particular contest, I think

GMUN's bot contests were all fun but they also didn't have the same aura (and it didn't make much difference whether it was FF or not)

If you said you'd like "Sloppy Joes in a bowl" I'd assemble the sandwiches and then serve them in a bowl instead of on a plate. I'd think it was odd you wanted your sandwiches in a bowl, but you do you.

Now if you phrased it as "a bowl of Sloppy Joes" I might be uncertain and ask you to clarify.
