The fact that all of those are nearly a decade old is fairly telling. Obviously it was referenced around its release.

Compare that to something like Inception. It had no sequels, but it literally redefined the word Inception for the greater populace.

The Matrix had one good movie and too disappointing and largely panned sequels. But it gets quoted regularly. It gets referenced regularly. And when you say matrix people think the movie before anything else.

Avatar is such an incredible case in pop culture. It came out, made a bajillion dollars and then largely disappeared. You would think that the number 1 movie of all time would have more of a cultural impact, but it just isn't there. There aren't any hardcore fans. There isn't all sorts of merchandise. Nobody references it in either general conversation nor does it get referenced by other media. And I haven't met a single person who is looking forward to the sequel.

But I'm also sure that it is going to come out and make a shitload of money.

The new disclaimer basically reads as "hey, if you find something in this game offensive, at least know that someone like you was involved in the creative process". It heads off the common and often warranted complaint that group xyz wasn't even consulted over an the offending issue.

I personally think it sorta reads like "I have a black friend" and if something was truly offensive having a diverse staff doesn't make that less so. But it certainly shouldn't bother you.

I'm not sure it is possible to point to any single component of the Sequel Trilogy and have a biggest villain.

Like KK was given a tough task of turning Star Wars into an annual franchise and she was able to do that, but it is pretty obvious that either she and the story group didn't have an established plan for what the trilogy was going to look like or they were not able to properly convey that to Johnson and Abrams.

Abrams and Johnson clearly had a disconnect on what the movie should look like. Causing the movies to be disjointed and walking back the moves the other made.

Lucas had the opposite issue of Kennedy where he had a clear vision with what he wanted to do but lacked the actual ability to successfully put it on screen.

The fandom had plenty of legit criticisms of the above, but more virulent strains of it also went to the internet staples of threats of violence. And then there was the endless fits about diversity.

I think the people who wanted or expected it to be the new GoT came in with entirely unrealistic expectations. Like I have a friend who started watching it and complained that it was too magical and fantasy.

I think when people talk about this sequel trilogy in the future the conversation is always going to come down to Team TLJ vs Team ROS.

I think in effect it is team Johnson vs team Abrams. And it is entirely Disney's fault for not going into the trilogy with a clear vision of the story they wanted to tell. Or if they did have a clear vision not appropriately communicating it to their directors and holding them to it.

So you have a series of movies that just keep walking back from the last one.

Tell me some well kept secrets in the gaming industry.

Only go to a casino if you enjoy playing the games and expect to lose money. Every game on the floor is favored to win the house. A loose slot just means it might take less money from you in the long run.

Go in knowing how much you are willing to spend and stop when you hit that amount. Set a budget for casinos like you would any regular expense and don't go past that.

My guess is that we do get actual canon old Republic adventures if only because it is an easy era to tell stories in since you aren't super worried about stepping on other toes and Revan is confirmed canon and super popular.

I just hope when it happens the universe actually feels thousands of years younger. I love KOTOR but it looks identical to prequel era Star Wars from a design and technology perspective. You can tell Bioware just wanted to make a Star Wars game and only chose the era they did so they wouldn't have to dance around the EU rather than really tackling the idea of a much younger Star Wars world.

That is the dark side. You are right that you aren't some galactic threat. They will never send Jedi against you, but you aren't "neutral".

And I love KOTOR II, but Force powers are definitely gameplay mechanics over lore. The cost of using lightning as a good guy isn't just that it takes more force points, it is that it corrupts your very being.

The major cities(stl and kc) may as well be southern, but the other areas are distinctively midwest.

If I were to boil it down to generalizations, I'd say the opposite. St. Louis and especially KC are fairly typical midwest cities. It's when you get to places like Lebanon or the Ozarks where you start to see the Confederate Missouri roots bleed through.

I think the point is that he likely won't, and there likely isn't/wouldn't be a public outcry over this, which is a similar scenario to the reporter. If he did pursue legal action and/or sympathy, it's possible that he'd be met with contempt and people just telling him to man up and not worry about it

And that is unfortunate. That doesn't mean that people should care less about women getting assaulted so it is equal with men. It means people should support men reporting sexual assault more.

The problem here is that you don't feel you have the support to report the instances of sexual assault against you, not that it is easier for women to do it.

We should strive to make it easier for men to report assault, not be upset that women can report it easier.
