For example, Fire Nation colonies in the Earth Kingdom are brought up a couple times, but it would've been more interesting for the Gaang to visit one firsthand and possibly hear their version of what's going on. Unless they did, but I don't believe they did.

They visit them quite often in Season 1, and 2 as well I believe. Those are the areas of the Earth Kingdom that the Fire Nation rule.

I wouldn't bother with Korra. Season 1 is ok, I guess. Season 2 is hot trash (even fans of the series agree on this). Season 3 and 4 are a big step up from Season 2, but I still think they are trash, they have good moments, but the key word is moments. Although to be fair I've seen a lot of people who seem to really like Season 3 and 4 for some reason.

A little, at least with Dudley Dursley. The last book implies Dudley stopped disliking him as much after he (spoliers for book 5) was saved by Harry in Order of the Pheonix.

Harry goes to a state (public for those who don't know) school, where his need to wear glasses would have almost certainly been identified by the teachers. Given that the NHS in the UK pays for glasses (for kids anyway), it would look really weird for the Dursley's not to provide him with glasses. The Dursley's are a family that really, really, wants to look perfectly normal, not weird at all.

Not at all. No-deal Brexit is the default. Parliament has to pass a deal. It doesn't ensure an extension at all.

And don't twist my words, I'm massively against a No-Deal Brexit, the extention was a good thing my point is that going "Well it's not technically a veto. It's just effectively one in practical terms" is intentionally missing the point and defeats my whole purpose of trying to explain them quickly off handedly.

The difference is that it's the Federal government's job to enforce immigration law, not the state or city. While I don't know enough to say for sure I imagine Virginia law makes it the job of local police to enforce State law. Having said that if the law is unconstitutional, as some have claimed, it's an illegal law, and therefore none of the police should enforce it.

The House of Lords can't Veto laws or legislation, they can only delay and propose amendments, which the House of Commons can reject.

No. Up until earlier on this year the Labour position was "let's leave the EU". Even after changing their position, it was changed to "let's confirm have another referendum".

The only party I can see the Conservatives forming a coalition with is the Brexit party. I've seen a lot of people argue that the Liberal Democrats would support them, but I don't see why, or how. The both have Brexit at the forefront of their campaigns and both have exact opposite views on the matter.

I suppose it's possible that the Conservatives will see that other parties have a majority of seats, and go "oh well I guess the people have now said they don't want Brexit so let's cancel it", but I can't see the Liberal Democrats, helping facilitate Brexit. They almost fell into irrelevance after the last coalition they had with the Conservatives, and Brexit far bigger then deal then what they promised in the 2010 election.

Yes, if the Senate vote to remove a person who's been impeached by the house (which requires 2/3 support of the Senate), they can then do a second vote to disqualify the person from further office, this second vote requires over 50% support from the Senate.

I'm not a fan of shallan. In the first books, the whole "I'm so smart with my witty jokes and puns" annoyed me.

It in the first book, I really felt her humour was supposed to come across, as genuinely unfunny.

IIRC(unless that's a different story than I know) it wasn't that the company couldn't do it, it was that he was an unknown author and they weren't willing to commit to such a huge endeavor for him, so instead he did Elantris then Mistborn to prove himself.

It's a different story. I'm talking about the original draft of Oathbringer being to long for the company to print in a single paperback book.

The company who prints his book, couldn't print the original draft due to it's length. He had to cut it down.

Which makes me curious--how did you all feel, generally speaking, about Shallan in Oathbringer? Her storyline in it was really weird to me, and I'd say it's the only thing that would bring the book down for me. I'll be starting a reread soon so maybe when I read Oathbringer for a second time I'll feel differently.

I didn't find her parts to be particularly notable. They felt about the same as the part of the book it was in.

I don't get why you keep bringing up the detail that she knew she was transgender at three years old. She didn't start hormone blockers until 12 years old.

I enjoyed Xenoblade 2 . The combat system was amazing, although I wouldn't say the same about the rest of the game, it was overall good.
