But I don't blame the board invaders for it. They came in good faith, and as far as contest goes, they weren't cheating or anything.

I just wish they would've had the decency to use the search function and find out the topic they were about to post had already been done like 30 times.

That sounds like you're mixing them up. Undertale fans' reasoning was sincere; Draven wasn't (unless you mean sincerely trolling for the sake of salt and rage).

Yeah, sincerely trolling as opposed to trolling and calling it trying to bring exposure to a "lesser-known" game.

Hey, I played the game *before* the contest and I think it's pretty good! I'd hesitate to say great - most of the characters are two dimensional and I don't get much out of its meta-fictional commentary, but the music and the combat design are solid, and having characters comment on your save-scumming is a cute idea for a game like that. I am buttdevastated about the 2015 contest though. I get buttdevastated when things I find fun become unfun.

Maybe this is just because I have a confrontational personality, but I actually preferred the way the Draven fans acted to the Undertale fans. Draven supporters were more sincere. It was really annoying reading the constant flood of "Undertale is actually a really great game, guys, just give it a chance..." threads. They had essentially invaded the site and then had the gall to ask people to approach them and their game with good will.

I think RDR has a pretty winnable set of early matches.

Undertale's most tense match was honestly the one against ME3. The rest was a foregone conclusion after that point.

No, but I respect it as a game and think it would be a good choice for that title.

Shadow of the Colossus is probably the game that has the best combination of artistic excellence and impact on the games industry and deserves the title, but my personal favorite game from that decade is Mother 3.

I personally think that seeing things like CT/FF7 and the "natural state" of Pokemon against Mario would've been more interesting than what Undertale did. I admit I don't have exact data on how many people feel the same way, but I do recall that there was a poll after that contest for "Will you play Undertale after it won the contest?" and "No, I refuse to ever play it out of spite" was one of the most popular answers.

EDIT: I actually did forget it was Melee that screwed over CT, lol. Still, that applies to the general philosophy of whether these big rallies make these contests more fun or less.

It makes sense to assume Undertale will have a bad early vote because people who are more tuned in to the contest will be the most likely ones to resent it for the 2015 contest. I don't know if that early vote will extend beyond the first half-hour though.

Odyssey > Ultimate would be so shocking to me. I've internalized the rule that non-64 3D Mario games are always way weaker than you'd expect.

I think that the odds of a second Undertale rally are really low 5 years after its release.

I have Undertale winning two matches in my bracket and I'll still be thrilled if Octopath wins this one.

I think that RE7 is probably underseeded and much stronger than VVVVVV.

Persona games have been pretty weak on this site in the past. I don't think 5 will be much of an exception. I have Skyrim making it to the finals over either of them.
