Yes but many African Nations are leveraging this well to create needed infrastructure and they use money received in the deals develop industries in tech and other areas. It's a trade relationship

Some countries have made good deals and get the best out of the trade relationship and some do bad. But at least they aren't dictating what their leaders can or can't do or are dropping drone bombs on their people, Regime change wars, funding dangerous militia groups covertly etc. Like the US and EU have been caught doing (as well as some Arabian nations)

Tanzania and Ethiopia are examples of Nations who had done great business with China and used them to their benefit

China is actually building infrastructure and not blowing Africa to pieces. There may be good or bad deals but it's nothing compared to what the US and allies have been doing

This whole post. Pretty much on the money. In this country it is literally better for you to slack off and not be noticed, because working too hard for the same amount of money doesn't get you anything and is less healthy for you.

This it also puts you in the radar. Any mistake you make while you're working hard will make you a scapegoat. Also if your effort level goes down but you're still working hard and harder than anybody else around you people will call you a slacker even though you're still don't the most work

Best way to operate is out of sight out of mind. And if the opportunity comes finesse your way into higher positions
