This gets my roguelike fancy going, it's structured like Binding of Isaac in a lot of ways, but you're a ship flying around instead. It's not as robust but still quite a bit of content, and it just got its first expansion

Surprisingly not a whole lot like Dark Souls minus a few similarities, but that game is hella good and very much recommended as a metroidvania

Solid entry in the series, a little over reliance on the parry mechanic. A really neat final boss puts a bow on a dangling question. Adds some interesting lore to the series.Certainly worth playing and isn't lessened by the existence of AM2R and vice versa

They don't "feel" like other dungeons because they removed the "item of the week" gimmick that didn't even exist until LttP. The items you found in the original were all straight combat upgrades for the most part. There's a few exceptions like the raft.

Zelda 1's dungeon Items
Level 1 - Bow/Boomerang
Level 2 - Magic Boomerang
Level 3 - Raft
Level 4 - Step Ladder
Level 5 - Whistle
Level 6 - Magic Rod
Level 7 - Red Candle
Level 8 - Magic Book
Level 9 - Silver Arrows
Zelda 1 had plenty utility items

In Zelda 1 you get a variety of items to increase your combat capability, your exploration ability or both. Finding a dungeon in Zelda 1, and every zelda game beyond that was exciting because the item you got changed things.

In breath of the wild you start off with all your items (minus the camera but who cares), two of them are bombs. What do you get in dungeons? a Heart Container but there's only 4 of them so nothing to look forward to. Exploration majority of the time amounts to finding a shrine, which only gives 1/4 of a heart container or stamina vessel. Yippie.

Glad i bought this super amazing "Return to form" Zelda game that really shows what the series is really about. A whole lot of nothing apparently.

It's not about the number of dungeons. It's about being put in a world and being left to explore and discover, to forge your own path in whatever order you choose.

It's nice that you're only focusing on half of what makes Zelda great to fit your narrative
