I got lost in Japan 3 different times. in June 2004 I was an exchange student in Nagoya for 2 weeks. anyway, one time I forgot which bus to get on but then was able to just barely decipher a map and figure out where to go with my like preschool level japanese skill

another time, I got off the bus but went down the wrong street to my host's house. and had to have her son meet me and show me the real way

the last time, I missed my bus stop and stayed on not realizing it had already passed it. and then rode till the end of the line. I was the only person left on the bus and we pulled into a giant parking lot next to this huge cemetery. the driver said something in japanese, parked, turned off the bus and opened the doors. so I got out and walked down a country road outside town back the direction we had come. until I found a payphone. I was SOOOOOO god damned lucky they still had pay phones back then. if this happened in 2020 I might have been fucked unless they handed me a temporary cell phone to use. I didn't even have a cell phone back then, in america (got my first cell phone in like 2007 or something)

i'm actually surprised thinking about it now that 2004 japan kept some around, but thankful they did

likely not. until very recently no star wars material was allowed to have gay people. it was a direct rule handed down by George himself. he doesn't like gay people in his universe and he used to say they just don't exist in star wars. but after disney bought it, the first change happened in the Old Republic mmo. they added some gay romances. and there is probably more stuff in recent comics or something.

I mostly have only tried one game to any real extent so far. Marvel Strike Force. and I spent like 20 or 30 bucks. and I felt bad about it later. but then I hear of people spending hundreds of dollars. what have you spent? and do you regret it?

I've never actually finished any of those but Wild Arms is a good. someday I should replay and finish it. Xenogears starts amazing but near the end of the game it kinda falls apart. they ran out of time or money and rushed the rest of the game. and there is a large chunk of the game where it turns into just these long cutscenes summarizing up the story and finishing it all up.

also keep in mind that Japanese video game devs used to see everyone outside japan as just "secondary market" and they primarly were making games for Japanese people and if they saw a market for a game they happened to make abroad they tossed us a bone but they didn't really give a shit about us. it's only recently that Japanese companies are starting to care more about how non japanese feel or want

Every game is different and there is all kinds of multitudes of seasons why a particular game doesnt get localized. Sometimes they make sense. Sometimes it's very dumb reasons like us not getting Final Fantasy 2 just cause it looked too similar to the first game
