Its kinda amazing how much Sega tried to fuck up Mania

- load it up with old zones
- release on PC one month after consoles
- DRM on PC version
- Tie the story into Sonic Forces, only for Classic Sonic to have next to no involvement in that game

Almost all the Goodwill Mania made was sucked up by Forces.

One of the best 2D platformers, yet Sega doesn't want to capitalize on it.

Sega needs to look at Capcom non-fighting game divisions and see why they are successful.

Hire new, young, passionate programmers to make the games, and listen to fans

For 10 bucks you get vs. CPU mode

SFV launched with;

- 16 characters, season pass announced before game was released

- Survival, Versus, Training, Tutorial (a bad one), and Online as it's only features. Literally no arcade mode

- Online was bad

Took them 4 years to reach a level where it matched a $60 price tag, and somewhat matchs SF4.

The online is still bad, but thats gonna be one of the most important topics for the next two years especially when next gen begins

AP isnt shown, but if you happen to master something, it'll say 'Learned X'

You gain 1 point for every monster killed, and gain one if you use a ability, like casting fire or steal. Oversouled enemies give 2 AP, and bosses give more

Theres no way to check to see how far away you are from a oversouled enemy

Halo 3, both campaign and multiplayer

Basically a 1HKO for a 1-2 puff of flame vs most flood and covenant, and you have about 200 puffs

Multiplayer it kills quickly, and it blinds people if they are too close/ hit them dead on

Dont care if it was ethernet only or whatever, that much money over a online tourney (and smashs online in general) is dumb as hell.

Hell people cheat even if its just 100 bucks.

Oversouled Enemies:

- Stronger, usually better moveset
- Better/ More drops, steals, exp, AP ,etc
- Unlimited MP that they can use
- Activates when you kill many of a enemy type. Can be brought over to bosses too. (For example, if you kill x amount of dragons, and the next dragon you fight is a dragon boss, it will be oversouled)
- probably more stuff

For the most part, they arent much of a threat, except for very specific enemies and bosses.

Thats because NSMB beyond the 1st 2~ were uninspired and dull.

Sonic 4 was like that (along with having other problems) but it stopped at 2 games. There are 4 NSMB games, dlc, a port, and a mode in a level creator. Its gone way past its prime.

Mania addresses why people liked the the old stuff and showed that they can still come up with cool and unique ideas, all while looking better graphically.
