Rook to g1 seems good on the outset but I've never been a big fan of trading pieces unless absolutely necessary. I will say sometimes gameplay can be very tedious, I doubt I would've finished it if it wasn't horror-focused to be perfectly honest! The map can especially feel like a rats maze sometimes. As far as horror RPGs go I still prefer Sweet Home. I am glad to hear the translation got improved, back when I first played it the translation was still very rough. Sounds like it's perfect now. I've only played the original version for a short while since I don't even think that has a translation at all but I haven't looked in ages. | Snake5555555555 02/29/20 1:15:54 PM #29 | Singularity  Played on: Xbox 360 Release Date: June 29, 2010 Genre: First-Person Shooter RAVEN'S LAST HURRAH Singularity is one of the most overlooked games of the last decade for sure. A hybrid FPS/horror game, Singularity represents a time in gaming I never fully appreciated until it was gone; an era of janky, B-level games (especially in the shooter genre) that signified a more daring, creative side as games risked becoming more & more homogenized. Singularity isn't one of the most polished games you'll ever play through, it's not the prettiest and it's not the most fully-featured, but all of that doesn't diminish its fun factor in any way. The main hook of Singularity is the Time Manipulation Device, or TMD for short. As the name implies, you can do all sorts of neat time tricks with it, from the typical fare like dragging objects through time to trapping enemies in time bubbles, to more extreme uses such as aging people into tidy piles of dust or transforming them into hideous skinless creatures to do your bidding. The potential for the TMD grows exponentially as you progress through the game, until you're a near-god by the last hour. Now, without this device, I do think Singularity becomes a more bog-standard affair gameplay wise, but I do love the Cold War/pulp sci-fi alternate history atmosphere the game emphasizes too. The world is so damn bleak especially with the amount of time fuckery you end up getting up to, and that alone makes it worth enough of a playthrough I think! This would end up being Raven's original game before being stuck on Call of Duty. Now, I love COD, but I would love to see Raven return with an other original IP like Singularity one day.
