Yeah I would agree with that. For me some of my favorite parts of the first two pokemon games were taking new routes in new playthroughs. G/S let you take on the last few gyms in any order, same with red and blue. Heck I didn't even know you could get the silph scope from giovanni until post game on my first play through.

Did you actually do the Poke Doll trick on Marowak on your first playthrough?

Before you could skip the first version and buy the enhanced version. Now you have to buy the base version and the DLC. It's better for people who buy everything, but worse for the ones who wait.

They at least had the GTS so that you didn't have to coordinate with someone for a bunch of Pokmon. This game doesn't have that.

You have to pay for Home if you want to do that. It's probably going to be the cheaper option assuming Home doesn't need Nintendo Online and you don't already have it, but if it does need Nintendo Online, I'd rather pay one subscription to get what I want rather than 2.

I hate the "You can just trade for them" argument. Unless the GTS is coming with the DLC, getting 200+ Pokmon through trading is going to be a huge pain.

And honestly, I'm surprised they didn't leave in data for the unused Pokmon in this, considering that Let's Go had everything but the models and they never had any intention of bringing the non-Kanto Pokmon to it.

I don't care for Pokmon Home until there's a game where I can store everything I have. I don't want to pay a subscription for years until they finally put something I have in there in a game again.

It doesn't matter how many Pokmon are in the game right now. Unless you hack, you can only get the 400 + Mew right now. You could still have your smaller metagame until Home comes out. And by the time Home comes out, most of the casual players will have moved on to something else. It wouldn't even be that hard to get whatever you needed if they didn't also cut the GTS. Heck, I built a competitive team in USUM getting a bunch of unobtainable stuff on the GTS.

Deoxys or Pheromosa would probably be the best bet, just because they outspeed and can OHKO with a Dynamax move.

Close Combat and Play Rough both OHKO after Intrepid Sword and a plus attack nature, and Zacian is so much faster that it easily out speeds Reshiram even if Reshiram has a plus speed nature.

Edit: Actually, the damage calculator I used was dumb. They only OHKO after Stealth Rock damage, which isn't really much better.

Losing the Legendaries is worse given how good Zacian is. It's used on nearly 97% of teams in high level AG and 92% in high level ubers. It'd be nice to have something left that can counter it.

This game isn't any more balanced than the last ones. Dragapult and Galarian Darmanitan are used even more than Landorus was. Excadrill has about the same usage. Just because Landorus is gone doesn't make it a better metagame.

I may be off by 2-3, but doesn't the Galardex only have 48 Gen 1 Pokemon, counting evolutions and not just lines? And Gen 2 only has 32ish. So they did cut most of Gen 1 and 2.

I think we got to about 60 if you count Mewtwo and the other starters.
