Investing in anything whose value is pegged upon the US government or US dollar in any such a way is bad news. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is almost upon us where nations and big banking institutions alike are HEAVILY researching and investing in the spinoff technology of the bitcoin, blockchain technology, to create their own cryptocurrencies to knock the US dollar off its World Reserve currency status. When (not if, WHEN) this happens, the US dollar is going to implode. Its only saving grace is its status as the the petrodollar, which is under threat because of the petroyuan.

If you ask me personally what to invest in, obviously, I'm going to say Chainlink.

chainlinkhub.com

But whatever you decide upon, keeping your money with banks is playing with fire.

Literally Foxconn, home of the suicide safety nets, is shutdown because of the virus. And US politicians are floating the idea of a travel ban against China. This is a problem for the rest of world. Both economically due to how prevalent Chinese manufactured products are, and how high the rate of infection is. Life experiences can affect sexual expression, but its influence on gender preference is hard to determine. After all a lot of heterosexual people have unfortunately been victims of molestation as well, but nobody thinks that is the cause of their heterosexuality. Instead, we take what we perceive to be abnormal behavior (homosexuality) and try to rationalize its existence by correlating it to some other abnormal event. Not maliciously, for the most part, but just because that's how we go about investigating things.

The research paper solosnake posted investigates links between childhood sexual abuse and sexual identity and the paper mentions that heterosexuals report lower rates of sexual abuse compared to their nonhetero counterparts. I also hear there's a noticeable percentage of porn stars that went through sexual abuse as kids. Given how precarious childhood development is, I wouldn't put it past it that you can significantly alter a kid's life trajectory from their experiences there.

I implore you to start reading up on Ethereum's Smart contracts (no I'm not advocating you buy ETH, always Link), the biggest breakthrough of blockchain technology. In a nutshell it's an automated contract. Once formed, it holds its word. If X, then Y. What makes this so powerful is that it's built up with security and with banking features integrated in. "Things like turn your timesheets, and you'll get paid" will get automated without the need for someone in the financial department to process. In the government, at least 3 or 4 hands are involved in verifying a payment; smart contracts will reduce it to one. There's a bunch of cool stuff that you can do with smart contracts, it's going to revolutionize the world and it's going to hit mainstream adoption soon. That's what our favorite World leader is referring to.

In your quote, remember that Feynman wasn't alive for the global trade opening up where companies are moving jobs from their countries' economies overseas thereby reducing the overall amount of jobs in their native countries while taking on bigger profits thanks to lower costs of employing people overseas. He's not even talking about that, he's saying cause a nation's better than a poor nation in terms of efficiency and capital, the rich nation can take the poor nation's resources with no need to support them. That sounds like a breeding ground for poor relations as another rival country can come in, make negotiations to share the wealth to gain their support to push out the nation that was exploiting them in the first place.

He made the original versions of Minecraft by himself, and eventually sold it to Microsoft. Since he created the product initially by himself, then made the company that continued the product, and then sold his interest in it, he in fact made all his billions himself
Yup, there's a difference between Wealth creation and Wealth transfer. Wealth creation is like you described in creating a product that offers new experiences or creates a new product. Then there's wealth transfer, where they come up with new and superior ways to offer the same services which then absorbs wealth from other services, like Amazon absorbing malls and local outlets' sales or even Eshop/PSN to gaming store outlets. I want to say the bitcoin is purely wealth transfer. Wealth transfer in that it was developed as a response to the 2008 housing crisis. They want to strip bankers of their power. The blockchain industry has since further grown to create opportunities to uproot the entire banking system as we know it and knock the US dollar off its world reserve currency status - bad news for us.

But I suppose AOC is complaining about is the incredible wealth generated while too many employees aren't comfortably compensated. The wealth gap wouldn't be much of a factor if the people below are happy. But they're not. Fair complaint. The reason anything costs what it does is because people are willing to pay that much for it.

But yeah, the whole giving dumb teenagers with no job history or assets 10s of thousands of dollars in loans does inflate that

Does in inflate that? The government influenced society to make having a degree the standard. They're the one who handed out loans like candy and allowed colleges to keep inflating the tuition. They're the ones that made it illegal to default on your school debt. A number of politicians, including Clinton, kept pushing for people to go to college and ultimately we ended up in a culture that treats any alternative options as second class citizen options.

As someone "privileged" enough to have a family that paid for my undergrad degree and wasn't given a choice but to go to college, pinning any blame on clueless dumb High schooler teenagers is ignorant, especially when we were collectively never taught about investments and finances in school and most people can't even say what gives the US dollar its value.

And yes, while there is wealth creation in creating new markets, there will is also wealth transfer, like in factories moving overseas to create jobs in other countries at the expense of its home country's, Uber's gig services absorbing the Taxi industry, or smart contracts and AI automating white collar positions in the near near future.

It's not fake news, statistics downplay the unemployment rate like crazy. We literally have a movie on Netflix, a documentary about bringing manufacturing back to the US, "American Factory". Part of what put Trump in office is because of people wanting a solution for the loss jobs in manufacturing.

Tell me, how is he wrong? How have wages NOT stagnated? How has moving operations overseas to China NOT stolen jobs from the US?

Do note, I study some of this, investing, as a hobby and I've come to learn that service is not infinite. There's only so many dollars available to push around and easier processes will absorb the money from more expensive processes. For instance, Amazon has stolen a metric ton of money (or rather money has been transferred to Amazon) from traditional outlets congregates like malls. In the future, smart contracts are going to absorb a ton of jobs, like the trust assurance industry where you need to transfer assets of high value.

That's a lot of time off work and savings down the toilet. I'm ok with 1 trip a year, she wants like 5.

How do you guys reconcile?

For me it's not about getting "likes" for what I do but rather NOT getting dislikes on platforms that support them.

Dude, that is very dangerous. You can't wait for something to be socially acceptable before you start talking about it. You'll miss out on opportunities and could very well sabotage yourself that way.

The writer acts as if the rest of the world isn't already social media obsessed.

Reading the article, that is a big factor in what led to her passing. If she's attractive and can't feel accepted, she'll be at a loss thinking what else is she supposed to do to be validated.

The family wants to blame social media, but the fault really lies with her parents and family who didn't teach her better and / or support her well enough, or seek professional help for her if they did and she wasn't listening.

Depression rates are rising across the board; lots of kids are trying to substitute real friendships with online pseudofriendships via Twitch and Youtube streamers. We have a national epidemic on our hands. Society needs to step up to protect our future generations.

OP, care to sum up what you think happened? Whodunnit, why, etc etc. I'd love to see your thoughts on the Somniums you dove into and what information you got out of it. Like that one you talked about in the first post.
