If it's anything like New Leaf, Timmy's turnip price will change every 12 hours, and there are 4 patterns prices can follow.

Small spike: prices will be low initially, then midweek they'll raise for a day or so then go low again
Big spike: same as above but the midweek price will be huge. 300-600 bells.
Crash: Prices will stay low all week
Random: no rhyme or reason, prices will just fluctuate randomly throughout the week.

I wouldn't put it that bluntly. If you want to shut down your life and hide in the basement for a whole summer over what 'might' happen then who am I to stop you? If the media spent more time saying most people who get it will feel like crap for a week or two and be fine instead of promoting the death toll (worldwide of course, bigger numbers mean more viewers) there'd be a lot less stress and anxiety. Are you in a hotspot or something?

DPs do you seriously think that if 10% of the population just up and vanished that everything would be okay? There's no possible way it would be. And many MANY more would die from the fallout. Please try to know what you're talking about.
