Royal added several new personas (everything that appeared in the new palace, for example) and gave all of the vanilla DLC for free.

Eh there are enough gameplay improvements to warrant another playthrough I think. I definitely have more fun with Royal's battle system.

Using a level 99 Lucifer in the first palace is more than overkill. Hit one mook for over 11000 damage lmao

That is his complaint. He most certainly is a silent protagonist, because he is silent. The issue is that since they gave him so much of a personality anyway, the "charm" of a silent protagonist is gone, and they might as well have just given him lines at that point

Yeah this exactly. He even has a cool voice the few times he does speak! Shame he didn't get more of an active role.

As for Shirley she does have quite a few redeemable qualities. She's often badass and steps up to solve problems in that kind of strong motherly way that I can't help but respect. Her religion is annoying but nothing I'm not used to arguing about with my actual mom. Maybe that's why she doesn't annoy me as badly as someone like Britta.

That took a looooooong time. Probably won't be playing another JRPG for quite a while. None of them can compete with Persona 5's pure sense of style anyway.

I do just have a couple complaints though:

1. Best girl Kasumi takes way too long to officially join, and it leaves too little time for her romance. Although even with that limited time she's still way better than the original cast of girls don't at me
2. Joker really didn't need to be a silent protagonist. The only time decisions matter are in the confidant convos and he could still be silent in those, but otherwise some fully voiced lines would have been more entertaining than the illusion of choices. He's pretty much a fully formed character as it is, seems weird that he doesn't get to speak up.

Actually wanna shower some praise here as well, bc the addition of Dr Maruki was genius. He's a fascinating character and gave the game some incredible moral complexity. To the point where I don't think I would have had the willpower myself to resist his offer.

So what's in store for me in NG+ cuz I heard you get to fight the twins for real that sounds cool

There have been several times over the course of my 30 years on this world that I have wanted nothing more than to end it.

Choosing to live can be difficult but it is worth it. You'll die eventually regardless, might as well see what you get from your short time existing.

Shirley and Britta are the "worst" characters but they're still great. Shirley has her badass mode which is always a treat, and Britta... well she's Britta.

Right it may not be low quality but it ain't super high quality either. Regardless I'm primarily a console gamer. One day I hope to get a desktop when I have space and money for it but for now it isn't a priority.

I typically just use it for browsing the internet, but I'm interested in the tablet aspect for the possibility to practice drawing. I don't think the graphics card is too important, the highest quality game I would maybe play is mass effect 2.

Been using this same Dell laptop for about 5 years now and it's about time for an upgrade. Not necessarily looking for a gaming computer although it would be nice to be able to play some of my Steam games. Was thinking maybe one of those tablet+laptop combo but the good ones are quite pricey. I'm not completely opposed to spending $800 dollars but I would prefer somewhere around the $500 range. Otherwise I'm not sure what to look for, I don't know as much about computers as I should at this point in my life.

As for phone I just upgraded from a Samsung s6 to an s20. Significant improvement. And I don't actually need much help with it, figured out all the problems I had already, but since it's very new to me I was just wondering if there are any quality of life apps or functions that I should be aware of. Also any mobile game recommendations are welcome since now seems like a good time to give in to the reality that mobile gaming isn't going away.

Not sure if anyone will find this interesting, but I wanna talk about something other than durability.

I set up some rules for myself to make the game way more fun, it actually becomes a true role playing game this way. It goes to show why Link is the best silent protagonist, he's easy to project myself onto.

So here are the rules

• Absolutely no fast travel - This alone makes the game a whole lot better. Hyrule is such a wonderful open world, and every inch of it deserves to be explored. Feels like it does the game and myself a disservice when I just fast travel everywhere, miss out on a lot that way.
• Pro hud - Should be kinda obvious, the hud is an eyesore and isn't needed.
• No map - That means I don't even bother getting the towers, never open map for any reason. The world has landmarks purposefully placed everywhere so it's easy to figure out where I'm going. If I do get lost (which happens once in a while sometimes I get turned around) then it enhances the role-playing aspect. For real lost and can't rely on a map, so gotta climb up and get to high ground so I can see which direction is where.
• Only change clothes while in town - More specifically I usually go to an Inn or somewhere I can have some privacy. This way I have to plan ahead on which outfit I wanna wear depending on which terrain I'm heading towards... although this rule has become somewhat useless since I very rarely change my clothes now. But for instance going into Gerudo Town requires me to stop at the Bazaar so I can change into my girl clothes first.
• No stocking up on food - If I cook a meal the intention is to eat it right away, gotta have that fresh taste. If I'm out in the wilderness and low on hearts, well then I gotta scrounge up some sustenance. Mushrooms are my favorite so hopefully there's some around (without collecting, don't want in inventory), place a bundle of wood next to it for a campfire to roast it real quick (or use a fire sword) and chow down on some tasty health. Or in a worse case scenario I would have to shoot a bird or maybe a moose and use the same campfire/sword method to roast the meat. But never a fox. Never hunt foxes.
• Limited potions - Personally I never used potions before, which is part of why I have the no food stock rule. That persuades me to search for critters which are a little tricky to catch. Because I am allowed to carry potions with me, but I limit them to two each, and none of them for health. If say I'm low on health and want to use a potion for cold resistance that also restores hearts, then I have to find food for recovery first before downing that chilly elixir.

...And I think that's it. Sorry if this was a waste of everyone's time, but these rules have increased my enjoyment of the game about tenfold so I wanted to share.

I love the durability mechanic. Whenever I play now I purposefully limit how many slots I have for weapons to make it an actual challenge bc otherwise there are so many weapons and ways to circumvent degradation. The game becomes too easy.

Ultron is a good performance marred by bad writing. A character who is insistent that human emotions are a weakness proceeds to crack jokes, get mad, gasp in surprise and offer bitter sarcastic rejoinders? Come on.

In my interpretation that's kind of the point of his character. The movie even states that he took on Stark's personality without realizing it, making him a hypocrite.

I'm one of the people who like Age of Ultron. The party scenes are really fun and pretty much the only time we get to see the Avengers just hanging out as friends, and Cap gets a lot of cool moments to shine which is all that really matters anyway.

Oh and Iron Man 3 is a fantastic movie too.

I once actually met a guy who supposedly was backpacking across the country or something, but he had a cat traveling with him, it was laying on the top of his backpack perfectly calm. That was the coolest.

Maybe he traveled to Japan and gave them the idea for Mona and Joker

Souls games get better the more you play them and get used to their unique style. They have a steep learning curve but it's worth taking the time to learn the deeper mechanics.
