Dire, Dire Docks, Bowser 2, Snowman Land, Wet-Dry Land and Tiny-Huge Island is the part of the game I generally least enjoy playing. Everything before that (yes, including the basement aside from DDD) and after that is way better. I feel this way about the original and SM64DS.

I'd be interested! I love running CPU tournaments and stuff. Not that I've really done any of that publicly for other people, though. I wish more games let set it up. Especially ones that also have custom character creation.

Also mentioning doing it like a wrestling promotion reminds me of VGCW. I miss that show...

I've played all of the original LoZ and BotW. I've played but not beaten ALTTP, TP, OoS and PH. I've watched 100% of OoT and MM, and seen significant portions of WW and SS. Have little or no experience with the rest.

The only LM2 puzzle that I felt was way too obtuse was the Dinosaur Figurine. Unless there was a hint somewhere and I missed it.

Aside from that, I don't like how the Rock of the Stars or whatever it's called just amounts to "run really fast and mash knife". They really should have made it so the lamp works. Also the Brahma puzzle is really cool so I'm sad it's technically completely optional... and potentially completely useless if you already got all the skulls and/or played the game before. They should have made the thing it relates to ("Where is this?") locked until you solved the puzzle, imo.

+1 on the opinion that the La-Mulana games make the whole game world feel connected in a way that no other roguelike I've ever played does

My review is not as scathing as dowolf's, but I prefer all of the individual versions of Weight of the World to YorHa as well.

...Not that my opinion matters much, given that I can't support anything. Whoops.

Outside of the game, no, but in the context of the game itself, I think Mouldwood as an area has the best music in the game. Insane mood setter. The second half of the boss fight music bringing in the main theme is hype.

I'm currently supporting Filthy Mind (4/4), but if there's someone really wanting Scourge of the Universe in instead (currently 3/2), I don't mind switching to guarantee the lock. I like both songs pretty equally. Or if someone just wants to lock Filthy Mind instead, that'd be great too.

I mentioned this on the discord, but The Merciless Savior is at 3/3. If someone is thinking of supporting it and does so before that time, I'd be happy to double it to lock it.

I'd be interested to know what's going on with The Caligula Effect too. There is a bit of standoff going on between the three nominations, and it might be wise to sort that out sooner rather than later. If people want to push Love Scope I'm happy to switch from DH to that. I won't support Onboro, but if the plan is to push for that and DH is going to be abandoned, then I'd like to know that too so I can potentially put that support elsewhere.

I had the game pretty close to complete before getting it, so it just felt like a cool late-game powerup to me. I backtracked through everything (except the Midnight Burrows) before then. I don't think there are any items you need it for. Which orb are you talking about, red?

The one on a ledge high up above the entrance to Mouldwood, though you can also get it with Bash + Light Burst + Triple Jump

Yeah the last ability being OP is a bit weird to me, I agree. However I understand that it's also a way to make the player feel really powerful for the final dungeon.

Though I will say this game suffers from a zelda-like problem of abilities being used in their dungeon/area and then being forgotten forever(Why I tend to prefer games stick to a more linear path rather than the open split Ori sets up).

Disagree. Most of the abilities are just general purpose movement options that have applications all over the game world, and the couple with more limited application like Flash can still be used to attack.
