Before trading halted my Spy puts were up like $800 each overnight. Sold a bunch of positions in stocks to try to buy more Disney puts but the trading halted. They are going to close the parks at some point and if you can get in before hand it's a lock for a gain.

No your not good. Lets say you have 100k invested in stocks. If the market falls 90% you now have 10k. If the market then goes up 8% per year it would take over 100 years to get back what you lost.

I can afford a $7.99 thickburger, it's just not worth it for that price. The point is fast food prices are not rising because "that's just the way it is", it's because of inflation. Because the federal government continues to have large budget deficits in the tune of $1.3 trillion dollars and the federal reserve continues to monetize our debt.

Trump's trade war with China certainly rose the price of food (see link). Back in the 90s they used to have 89 cents big-macs on sale (remember that commercial?), now a big-mac is $5.99 for a single burger, that is just ridiculous. The big-mac index is also used to measure inflation (see link). It's not just food prices that are rising, but costs for health-care/education/housing have all drastically increased the last 20 years. It's pretty obvious what's going on, you must be blind not to see it.

When not say use the price of a home computer or a barrel of oil? So even assuming the CPI measures inflation perfectly, one could not expect the price line for BigMacs to be flat.
