Neither handled it well, and the most embarrassing thing is sharing this account publicly to ruin his reputation. Over practically nothing. Unless I missed something about him hitting her or touching her sexually. This basically. Though I think it very much needs to be said that AJ sounds like a douche. I mean, I stopped watching his show many years ago for the same reason. This story fulfills my confirmation bias. I haven't been able to gather who exactly put this story out. If it was the girl trying to #metoo AJ then I find her much less sympathetic. She was at best super oblivious to some big social cues and at worst just straight using him for professional advancement. If she was the one who put this story out then my understanding of her will lean towards the latter. Still though. AJ sucks and I can't stand his show. You're gonna really have to break it down for me. What I see is that people are eager to virtue signal their support for trans people. I don't see any real discussion or refutation of her points. Calling Rowling a bigot (something I see a lot of in general lately) just isn't productive and seems highly reductionist as to what her point is. The reality is that women have had to deal with sexism and the way a cis female experiences that will be much different than what a trans person experiences. It just seems really odd to say trans women are women when they're trans women and all that comes with that. There will be some overlap between the experiences of trans women and cis women, but they are still distinct. Like a trans person can go through all sorts of therapies, treatments, surgeries, etc. to change what is part of their biological identity to what they feel it should be to match their gender identity. That still won't be the same as being born a cis female. They deserve to be treated with respect and dignity and proper acknowledgment of their gender identity, but it seems incorrect to group them in with cis females in terms of how they experience the world. | TommyG663513 06/18/20 11:02:51 PM #9 | A Play It Again Sports near me just got stocked up on dumbbells. I bought pairs of 25, 30, 35, and 40 lb dumbbells. 40 was the heaviest weight they had. It cost me over $500 for the four pair of dumbbells with the 40 lbers being the most expensive at $150/pair and the 25s were the cheapest at $95/pair. I also bought a weight bench off of Amazon for just under $200. Like I've been eagerly checking anywhere for weight lifting equipment and these dumbbells were BY FAR the best deal I could find and they were still really expensive. So to TC, I'd recommend checking out second hand type stores. In my case, the second hand store had brand new dumbbells. I've also noticed that the Bowflex adjustable dumbbells have dropped in price. Only available on the second hand market, but usually around $500-650 with shipping. Those were going for $1200+ back in March. I've had zero luck looking for any barbells or weight plates anywhere.
