X1.

X2 had way too much exposition and world-building that by the time any of the action came I was uninterested

I'm pretty sure MS is planning to launch with 2x tiers of hardware performance at launch.

One Maxed out, one base tier that should be better than the curren top of the line hardware.

Just keep pace with Digital Foundry, they've done some pretty good analysis on what MS/Sony are doing.

Nah Im familiar with that; theyll probably have an S model as the base one like before

But I feel like if there was ever an excuse for them to maintain the price point with the Series X it would be at $500, $600 tops. Any more than that and people are just gonna consider PCs or go for the base model

Its an older model but had a good storage size and was $400 for the whole shebang. Considering that the Smart Keyboard is usually about half of that Im feeling pretty good about it overall

I bought a cheap Chromebook because I dont want to lug my 15 main laptop everywhere, but this is both more functional and portable in comparison

The keys are sealed so no crumbs or other bullshit can get underneath and jam them like the MacBook Pros and typing on it is really quiet since theyre fabric

Considering that this 128GB model was $1K when it came out in 2015 and is STILL as good performance-wise as the base model iPads they sell today really shows how futureproof these new Apple devices are trying to be

Anyone else use Chromebooks/tablets as their primary PC thingy?

They answered that in the show: Pavetta and Duny were on a ship that sunk during a storm. Whether they explore her father's identity in the next season will be interesting.

Also I'm not sure where you got the impression that Nilfgaard were borderline savages from. Highly fanatical yes, but not savages.

I enjoyed the show a lot (enough to watch it all within two days) although it had a few issues that are mostly me nitpicking. Certainly scratched a Witcher itch and I'm looking forward to season 2.

Nah I get that they do explain what happened to her parents, but I think its weird that her grandparents are the ones raising her here when her father was alive and still the Emperor in the game IIRC

Nilfgaard seemed like Mongolian archetypes for me lol, I guess it was just their black armor and savagery that made me make the connection. The fact that theyre apparently an empire just makes me roll my eyes too; dunno why people think empires always have to represent the bad guys in all medieval-era media

Game Pass IS awesome

Its literally Netflix for games, and since some games are one and done like TV shows I think its very viable as a choice for many

Best of all is that Ultimate is only $15 and includes Game Pass and Xbox Live in one

Theres a reason why PlayStation took their failing PS Now format and adjusted it to be similar

Except its not quite the same because you can only download a few PS4 games and PS2 games

If thats still not your cup of tea then I guess GameFly is always an option

I thought it was pretty bad coming from a book reader.

My friends who were more into the games didn't like it at all, and brought it up to me first.

Did they know that it was based off of the books primarily and not the games?

I think the only major influence the games had were how the characters looked and talked.

Im kinda glad they used a mixed race for Yennefer

Lets be real theyre not finding someone thats gonna be 1:1 to her game counterpart so might as well add their own flair to it

Henry Cavil is absolutely perfect though, never thought Id say that after seeing the trailer and going Ehhh. I know some may disagree with me but I think he even gets the voice right; maybe his British accent helps with that.

Speaking of that, I think its funny how a story primarily based on Polish influences is overloaded with a British cast lol

From all the information I can get about the Xbox Series X high end unit, the GPU is effectively a Navi with 56 Compute Units

The current AMD Radeon High End SKU is the Radeon 5700 XT and that has only 40 Compute Units

Back in the Vega generation, they made SKU's that had up to 64 Compute Unites.

We know for a fact that AMD is holding back on it's customer base by not intruding higher CU units.

It's only a matter of time before we see newer Radeon Navi SKU's with Higher Comput Units.

I mean, would they still be able to sell it for a reasonable price if they did introduce that type of hardware?

I think after the $599 US dollars fiasco people are trying to stay around the $500 range max

The names, places, kingdoms, etc. might be a little too much to remember for the uninitiated, but overall, I thought season one was pretty enjoyable. Even the casting choices that seemed iffy wound up being pretty great. Nilfgaardian armor still had that low-quality look, though.

Arent they supposed to be borderline savages though?

One question I also had while watching is why Ciris parents arent around. Wasnt it her father that made Geralt her guardian in the game? And wasnt she the princess of an Empire, not a kingdom? Again, I know they followed the books and not the games for the show, but I feel like those are kinda big things to overlook.

This casting is one of those great examples of why you can never trust a trailer; everyone is just perfect. It's gonna be funny if they try to age up Ciri when her actress is already close to adult age, although I'm guessing the books did it differently than the games.

I wonder how they're gonna pace the following seasons though; this one was pretty slow but with good reason

Regardless of which console you play on, you're not a real gamer if you root for the competition to fail.

Healthy competition is better for everyone. I hope Sony puts out a good product to force Microsoft to do the same.

On the contrary, it seems like Xbox has set the mood going into this generation, with the Series X being a straight upgrade. If PS5 doesn't have some trick up its sleeve besides the games I feel they're not gonna move a lot of units. Most people will just stick to their PS4s.

I have an 8TB on my Xbox One X and after installing everything I only have 2.5 TB left

How are they gonna put SSDs in all these consoles standard when 4K games are this massive? I don't even want to think about 8K

The full Playstation library absolutely blows the full Xbox library away.

That's not what was being compared here. Rather, how fleshed out the backwards compatibility will be. I highly doubt Sony can say with confidence that 4 whole game libraries will be backwards compatible at launch, or even a year afterwards, if that wasn't one of the biggest focuses of the hardware.

That wouldn't make sense either because why would Palpatine rename himself?

What planned story?

Why would KK allow TLJ to 'damage' their plan?

JJ was not happy with where TLJ took the story. The final result is a mix of that story and the story told by Disney and whoever they tried to impress (certainly not the fans). JJ is gutted over the final result. Star Wars means a lot to him. He had to sacrifice large chunks of the story in TFA but he was promised more creative control on TROS and instead the leash they had him on was only tightened as time went by. A source said that this is the one franchise and the one piece of his work that he didn't want to mess up and instead it turned into his worst nightmare. When he found out that he was blindsided with the cut they presented, he said "what the fuck??" when Kylo was fighting the Knights of Ren at the end and the Williams music that was use

Hmmm that would actually even the odds against the Series X, which was already confirmed to have full backwards compatibility.

I highly doubt it though. If they couldn't pull it off on the PS4 I doubt it'll work on the PS5, at least natively.
