Shipping is slow right now. Normal 1-day delivery can take weeks. I ordered a fever thermometer to monitor the health of an elderly neighbor, took three weeks to arrive. I just ordered a pulse oximeter for the same purpose, expecting it in three weeks or so?

I voted 3rd party last time, and wasted my vote. The media has been doing such a smear job on Trump ever since he took office, that I'll probably vote for him this time. The Democrats spending months worth of taxpayers money just to generate a few dozen souvenir impeachment signing pens was the last straw, as far as I'm concerned.

as i said, stores here just have the wheels lock if the cart goes to far, simple to stop theft.

employees get paid to work, they can gather carts, it's their job

Discount grocery stores like Aldi's and Saver's don't hire cart pushers, so carts get left in the parking lot, the quarter is an incentive to return the cart to the corral.

The cart is the property of the business , not the customer.

TC's statement is his OP , was that since noone was using it , it was okay to take it.

I am questioning the OP , since neither the quarter or the cart is TC's , would TC feel the same way about his belongings ?

If TC loses his wallet in a public place , would he prefer that it was returned to him intact or would he just shrug it off if as finders keepers if any cash or cards were gone once somebody returned the wallett?
The quarter unlocks the cart for use. When someone is finished using the cart, it's available for use by someone else. The quarter is to encourage you to return the cart to the corral to get your quarter back. The cart belongs to the store. The quarter belongs to the original user, who kindly left it for the next person's use.

Are the contents of your wallet , purse , house , or vehicle free for the taking when you're not using them or are physically present?

Your wallet, purse, house, and vehicle are not abandoned in the middle of the parking lot because you're too lazy to return them to the corral and reclaim your quarter.

Or maybe not pure laziness, maybe figuring that someone will appreciate not having to drop a quarter for the cart, a small, relatively miniscule, kindness.

I use an old-fashioned mechanical push reel mower. No gas, no mess, good exercise. Of course, the lawns I usually mow, mine and two neighbors, are small and I don't let them get overgrown.

When I took care of a friends lawn while she was out of town, large and overgrown, I had to first cut the overgrowth with a cordless weedeater before my little mower could handle it. Old neighborhood, nice houses, her neighbors had lawn services, I wondered sometimes what her neighbors thought of a woman pulling up in a BMW convertible, taking an old-fashioned push mower out of the back seat, and mowing her lawn by hand.

The disadvantages are that the cut is a little uneven, and twigs, pinecones, etc., will jam the reel, so it's wise to rake first. If the grass is too tall, you need to cut it down with a weedeater before mowing. Huge advantages: small, light, easily transportable, easy to store, gentle on the lawn, no gas can to mess with, no noise or smell, good exercise.

Made Seniors Hour at the store this morning, 6 am, toilet paper aisle my neighbor's granddaughter bought a 12-pack at yesterday was empty again. Got some more ramen, scored a half-price 2# package of hamburger, the soda crackers I forgot last time, and an 88 frozen pot pie. Yippee! Checked out by my favorite manager, she's doing okay, she asked about my neighbor, who's doing okay but has an appointment for angiographic tomography Tuesday.

Speaking of appointments, screening at the Outpatient Dept at the hospital was just questions by a masked tech about cough last Tuesday, on Thursday temperature taken by a masked and face-shielded and gowned tech who wrote the temp on a visitor's badge, wonder what screening will be this Tuesday? Screening is good but as soon as I put on a mask, I get a tickle in my throat like I need to cough!

Documented Mayflower Descendant here. Let me be the first.

Why would anyone want to track street grime, other people's spit, mud, fertilizer, insecticides, automobile oil drippings, animal feces, pollen, etc. into their house rather than leaving their shoes by the door? Or do you never walk on sidewalks, through grass and dirt, through parking lots, or cross streets, so you can keep your walking shoes immaculate?
