They took RE2 and made it a linear roller coaster ride that doesn't stop for nuthin. The actual game though might be one of the easiest in the series, especially in terms of completion. However it's been fun seeing this new canon come together and how it linked to RE2make and not the original PS1 games and also served as a bridge to RE4 and I hope we get a Code Veronica remake next. The actual platinum is pretty similar to RE2's trophy list. You have to complete the game at minimum 4 times although I did it 5 times 1st playthrough was just a standard playthrough where I searched for all the files, lockers, safes and Charlie dolls hidden around the map. I finished that in about 7 hours. 2nd playthrough I went for S rank, under 2 hours, using no recovery items outside of the single time you're required to use one with the spiders and never opening the the item box. I finished this one in about 1:50. From there I used prior saves to grind out most of the challenges in the records menu for points that lets you purchase the infinite rocket launcher and the coins you keep in your inventory that heal you, give you added defense and attack power and more hip pouches and ran through Hardcore, Nightmare and Inferno difficulties basically all in a row. My time for all 3 of those was about 1:15 each time and that was enough to wrap up the platinum. I've had Final Fantasy VII Remake sitting on my desk for nearly 24 hours now, but I wanted to finish this platinum before I even put that in so now we can get down to business. --- |
