But it's a VERY well-told story so far.
My main gripe with the story is that it jumps around a lot and there's some parts where it's like, "here we go again".

people hate it because they wanted a generic adventure game with Joel and Ellie and not the mature, well-told story that we got. Im near the end of the game and its fucking fantastic.
Having finished the game, I'll say again that the story is okay. It's a revenge story with a fair amount of unneccessary filler content and disorienting story deliverance. There's two stories, but it continually jumps you around from past to present and back again. There's some parts where it wasn't needed for the story.

Depends on the method of time travel, and how the universe works.

If we live in a universe where time travel can only be used to observe, or the universe itself prevents changes from being made via stable time loops and ridiculous coincidences? Then it would be mostly fine (though it might become like a higher level of doxxing, where you could go back in time and see what people were doing years ago, potentially film blackmail material, or otherwise find ways to see and learn shit you really shouldn't be).

On the other hand, if time travel CAN alter the past, and doesn't involve multiple parallel timelines and infinite possibility shenanigans, then time travel would be the most dangerous thing ever, even if it wasn't public. The moment anyone (theoretically) can time travel, even aside from the various "I'm going to back and fix the past!" factions starting time wars, you'd have people like me going back to try and find a way to keep humans from evolving in the first place. Or deliberately creating Grandfather Paradoxes in an attempt to self-destruct the entire universe.
Asking the important questions here.

A couple hours after, some more thoughts. I thought the pacing was a bit wonky and there was a lot of filler combat and exploration. After a few parts, I was like ok here we go again and other parts just shook you from point a to point g and them to point z.

That said, the exploration and visuals were spot on as always. There were a lot of great scenes where I was like, holy fuck this is nice. Some combat scenes that were a bitch to get through but in a good way, like they felt like worthy boss fights, such as the gargantuan inside the Seattle hospital morgue and the hammer dude at the Haven docks. I still enjoy playing the first Last of Us and I dont know if Ill replay part 2 anytime soon.

Overall, I enjoyed the game. Yes, I thought it couldve been better. There were a lot of high points that resonate well with me, but there were a lot of points that didnt hit well, some in a bad way. I understand that others dont agree and thats cool. Its a different game and not everyones cup of tea.

Loving this game so far. The visuals are stunning. The gameplay is a little repetitive, but its not a huge issue to me. The soundtrack is amazing. The story has me twisted up, in a good way. Having loved the first game, this game is a worthy sequel.

I dont understand the hate, other than not liking certain aspects of the game like the lgbtq themes and certain plot points, given how strong the CIS gamer community gets about various stuff but to each their own and opinions.

The country is actually doing great when you remove the idiotic whiners from the equation (considering that they will always be whining and thus a constant can be removed from the equation). The problem is that half the population believes that you should work for what they have and the other half believes that they are perpetual victims who needs to have everything paid for them.

When two such ideologies clash, the reality is that one side will always scream about how everything is horrible and how the rest of the world is doing so much better. I'll let you guess which group tends to cry more often about everything and demand that everything be paid for them.

"People should pay for my abortion and bad choices!"
"People should pay for my shitty degree and bad choices!"
"People should pay for my medication and bad choices!"
"People should pay me for their ancestors actions!"
"People should give me UBI because I am a lazy asshole who doesn't want to work!"
"People should pay for my 10 children I got from 10 different husband!"
"People should pay because I want to divorce!"

See a recurrent factor? Always people incapable of accepting that they're accountable for their poor decisions. Guess which spectrum you usually find such people?

Guess which cities tend to be burning shit holes in America at the moment. See a common denominator?
Do you have any sources for the above requests or are you just pulling them out of your ass?

I said what I said.

medication should be free

Food should also be free and easily available to those who need it. As well as high speed internet and electricity.
Yes and no. Companies gives food away for free and companies aren't able to pay their workers or the farmers. People can eat whatever they want and they get more medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, etc for their poor eating habits. As of now, we have sources of free food, in the form of soup kitchens and homeless shelters. These organizations should receive assistance to help improve the quality of service.

Highspeed internet and electricity is iffy. Yes, it's hard to get by without it in a modern world, but it shouldn't be free. Construction companies should receive subsidies for building green technology like solar panels on the homes and apartment buildings so they can generate their own electricity. Highspeed internet is a luxury. You don't need it, but it's great. Rehauling the country infrastructure should be a priority, not giving it away.

In any case, while it shouldn't be free like OP said, it shouldn't be ridiculously-expensive either. A free market lets companies fuck over the consumer because they can. Some government intervention is needed.

Ahead of its Cup Series race Wednesday night in Martinsville, Virginia, NASCAR said it is banning the flying of Confederate flags at its races and other events.

"The presence of the Confederate flag at NASCAR events runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry," NASCAR said in a statement on its website.

"Bringing people together around a love for racing and the community that it creates is what makes our fans and sport special. The display of the Confederate flag will be prohibited from all NASCAR events and properties."

This week, driver Bubba Wallace, the first full-time African American driver in the Cup Series since 1971, called for NASCAR to go further than 2015, when it asked fans not to bring the Confederate flags to races.

This week, driver Bubba Wallace, the first full-time African American driver in the Cup Series since 1971, called for NASCAR to go further than 2015, when it asked fans not to bring the Confederate flags to races.

Wallace, 26, became the first African American driver since Wendell Scott (1963) to win an event sponsored by NASCAR when he won a trucks series race at Martinsville in 2013.

Martinsville is one of the tracks where Confederate flags are often seen in the parking lots and campgrounds, but Wednesday's race will have no fans. NASCAR won't allow limited numbers of fans in the grandstands until Sunday at the Cup race in Homestead, Florida.

NASCAR was formed in 1948 and runs three national series -- Cup, Xfinity and trucks.
