I do so with a clear conscience because I cut checks to homeless shelters, and substance abuse groups each year. brestugo 05/03/20 10:56:10 PM #7	In Los Angeles, the requirement is something to the effect of "face covering" which allows the use of, non N-95 masks, bandanas, etc. It just has to cover nose and mouth. This eases demand for the type of masks first responders use. There is no need for the general public and medical professionals to be competing for the same masks. You can buy them for $5 or so (washable) or make one yourself from a bandana as someone suggested above. The local city and county governments decide when to open or close the beaches in their jurisdiction. Newsom played nice and asked all the municipal governments to close their beaches, but some chose to ignore him. At that point he bypassed them and made it an executive order. That's pretty much correct. In L.A. County (where most of the beaches are within the city of Los Angeles) the mayor of L.A. took the added step of closing parking lots at the beaches -which the city owns. You can take public transit to the beach (I did it as a teen) but it is extremely inconvenient.
