Everyone believed that the virus mainly came to Sweden from people who had gone skiing in Northern Italy but genetic mapping of the virus show that many infected from Italy actually were found and quarantined before they could cause wide spreading.

The US, the UK, the Netherlands and France are the countries from which the society wide spread came. And the virus came to Sweden earlier than believed.

Swedish investigators are on a roll today.

The man now pointed out as Prime-minister Palmes murderer has been dead since 2000. So it feels like an anticlimax.

The double murderer in Linkping on the other hand is in police custody and has confessed to both killings.

The Iron Axis was an agreement between the centre-left Socialdemocrats and the right-wing Conservatives to keep strict immigration laws.

The Conservatives broke the axis in the early 00s when the more Neoliberal elements of the party seized power of the party after the catastrophic election result of 2002. The more far-left elements of the SocDems then gained power within the SocDems. The Conservatives held the prime-ministership from October 2006 to October 2014 and had a toxic cocktail of tax cuts, deregulations and open borders. The SocDems then began to turn to stricter policies in 2015 and the Conservatives followed.

Now the SocDems and Conservatives seem to be in agreement on a new major policy proposal from a parliamentary committee on immigration. Today I saw both far-left and Neoliberal news editorials warning about the return of the Iron Axis. Things are about to go down.

That is what I was looking at, too, but I took out San Marino and Andorra because their populations are so small and the numbers get skewed.

1% of the dead are under 50 years old.

2.6% are 50-59 years old.

I dunno about you, but I count you as older then youre 60+

and 60-69 year olds are 6%

The rest are +70 years old.

The problem here in Sweden, with the virus, is that the spread has gone out of control in elderly care homes. Our healthcare system in general is holding up well - the survival rate for those who end up in the ICU is very good compared to many other nations where the hospitals have crumbled under the pressure.

At least 75-80% of the deaths are old people in nursing homes. The vast majority of the remaining 20-25% are elderly who die in a palliative care ward. So yes, we have failed to protect our old folk. Everyone in the country agrees on this including the politicians in charge of various levels.

Nursing homes are run by each individual municipality which is bad imo while all other healthcare is run regionally. Nursing homes need to be absorbed back into the rest of the system to increase quality. We have 290 municipalities.

Young and middle aged folk, our hospitals and our economy are doing alright under the circumstances however. Whether it is right to sacrifice grandma and grandpa for wealth for the rest of the population can of course be debated heavily.

Something to note: many nations, like The Netherlands for example, dont include nursing home deaths in their COVID-numbers. So until all countries include all possible deaths the picture is not 100% accurate.

That is how I reason as well. Some said they would send the money back due to moral reasons while others said the IRS would have to take them to court

There was an article about it here where several Swedes who had lived in the US for a shorter period of time in the past got those 1200 USD deposits and how the IRS now wants the money back.

I obly saw the horrible preshow where rabdom celebs talked over the songs. But yeah Iceland was best. I also like Russia, even if I dont want to like them.

Yeah the preshow last weekend was a total mess. Like a bad X celebs react to Eurovision!.

Yesterdays show was on a completely other level. It was like a Eurovision in miniature. They used old postcards before each entry, no talking during the songs, Dotter sang Arcade (last years Eurovision winner) and The Mamas performed live. Bjrkman, Sarah Dawn Finer and Edward af Silln led the thing. They also showed some old clips including the Love Love Peace Peace interval from 2016.

I personally preferred Germany, Switzerland and Italy but got nothing against Iceland - my bf rooted for them.
