As irredeemably loathsome as child abusers are, there's still something particularly creepy about the people who fixate on them. Their manner suggests far less that they are upset about underage children being abused by people with power over them, and more so that there are perverts doing pervert things. Pizzagate for example. There was literally not a single victim. No people came forward. Everything about it was literally fabricated, imagine. And yet people were furiuos to the extent that they would threaten other people with guns. Crime and victim were completely divorced from one another to the extent that the victim was only theoretical, yet the crime was so real that it tinted the world around them in red. And you see a lot of this skeevy, morbid mania (over admittedly morbid and skeevy crimes) in response to the Epstein case, even though it is real.

I don't have anything of substance to comment on this particular documentary, because I haven't watched it.

They're looting because bad apple white Antifa TLJ fan college students came to town, and they were like "hey guys, wanna rob Target/rob Wal-Mart/burn down the police precinct?" and legitimate black protestors said "Yes, this is a good idea, let's stop doing the thing we were doing and go do that thing, I agree with this random white person, and so do the rest of us."

Either that, or there are people there who aren't actually protestors, but sneeeeaky opportunists, just waiting for the riots to start so they can steal themselves a 4K television, because a person with a true grievance against the state would never loot a Target. That's not how people behave, because even though I don't know anything about the sociological phenomenon of rioting, my feelings tell me it works this way.

Not to fan the flames of The Last Jedi fire, but I have a theory that when talented directors are given a AAA budget and the rein to a nerdy fantasy franchise (even if they're a fan of it), they're going to make one of the worst movies of their careers, if not the franchise itself. By all accounts I can find, Ryan Coogler's original film Fruitvale Station, and non-nerd-fantasy Rocky franchise re-reboot Creed, are much better movies than Black Panther (having seen Black Panther only, I'm not inclined to doubt these accounts). Duncan Jones did the acclaimed Moon and Source Code, and then Warcraft happened. And as much as I like The Last Jedi and Thor: Ragnarok, they're both the least of the movies by their respective directors that I've seen. Creative idiosyncracies seem to wane in the face of intellectual properties.

Haven't seen Knives Out just yet though. I've asked for it as a birthday gift.

Its the way these people think. They literally dont even care about the minimum wage workers (the actual people who are going to be hurt by this) because they feel like they got one over on the corporate entity.

Im just glad those people are not in the majority and its reassuring to see that most people here are shaming the people who support the looters and rioters.

The minimum wage workers are minimum wage because of Wal-Mart's decision to make them that way. Walmart should not only be paying them more money, they should also be paying them while they aren't working as the damage is being repaired. If you disagree with that, then your concern is utterly false.

It's messed up how some people get more upset over looting and property destruction than the abuse and murders by police. Many will try to write this off a a criticism of "both sides", but we all know how they really feel.

Exactly. There's a clear line in the sand oh, and it's more and more resembling a canyon by the recent events, and people are taking sides on it. That one side is often too cowardly and privileged to admit it speaks volumes, but make no mistake, that line has been drawn and they are on one side of it. Nothing of the manner in which they speak or write shows the slightest bit of true concern for the protesters. Riots and looting, in fact, fill them with glee precisely because they can use these incidents against the protesters, their cause, and all the people around them, while pretending to express concern over the damage done to their communities.
