I thought that too, but the other day JonPen's island was cloudy even though he had a meteor shower. Meteor showers might just work differently though.

Also just because it's cloudy now doesn't mean it won't clear up later. According to the datamine, Celeste can only show up on nights when shooting stars are possible (not that it's a guarantee you'll see any while you're playing).

Oh wow, is it that high? This was my first meteor shower, and I hadn't heard about hosts getting more than 20 before. I don't know if I wished that many times... I'm at 29 so far and still no Gemini.

Huh, so I'm still finding more fragments past 20. I know I've maxed out at that before, so now I wonder if the limit is 20 if you're visiting but more if you're hosting? I don't really know how many times I bothered to wish after I hit 20, but I know I did it sporadically throughout.

So it sounds like youll need all types of villagers at some point to unlock them all.

The DIYs you get from your villagers crafting are also dependent on personality type, though at least the DIY bottles can potentially mitigate that (and of course online interactions).

Also looks like I have all but two of the "special" reactions, so that's cool.

I don't know if it uses up the possibility of a daily task or not, but I've started making sure I'm not holding any bugs/fish when I talk to my villagers. I just figure it removes the possibility of them wanting to buy a critter and makes it at least a little more likely they'll give me an errand. I'm not sure I've ever had a villager buy from me and then still give me an errand in the same day.

But otherwise I just talk to each of them like 5-6 times and hope for the best. When outside I also try to unequip my tool so they can't make a comment about that either. I still come up empty most of the time, though.

Yeah it's lame, especially since one of the hybrid islands was also a big fish island. If the issue was people getting the rare hybrids too easily (which is silly anyway, there are 7 rare hybrid colors and islands were only helping you get 2 at most), then just change the flowers on the islands to not have the ideal genes. Don't just get rid of the islands entirely, when going on mystery tours is already mostly lame to begin with.

Yeah there was a new one that let you dupe using the mail. So basically anything except bugs/fish and a couple odd things like rusted parts were ripe to be duped.
