| WazzupGenius00 01/09/20 3:32:01 PM #4 | The Switch version is also nice because it has "enhanced" versions of some of the games that take out some of the flickering and slowdown they originally had It actually is missing one localized title though, Nintendo World Cup (either because of the trademarked name in the title or it may have something to do with that game being published in the US by Nintendo themselves) I had hope at one point that maybe we would get new localized versions of all of these with consistent names, instead of Kunio being named Sam, Alex, Crash, etc depending on the title but it seems like ASW isn't interested in doing that. At least they are consistent about the names in all the new games. --- |

Which exploit was it that required the file change?I dont think he actually mentioned it again while playing FO2 or maybe I just missed it, but what he said while playing the first game was that you could press the 0 key to exit out of a certain dialogue, that they think it was a developer tool that they forgot to remove, and that this was fixed in Fallout 2 but that they alter a file in the game so they could use it at a certain spot. Maybe what he meant was that it was fixed in a later revision and speedrunners revert to an earlier patch of the game? That I have no problem with. --- |

I will say that on a personal level I think runs of 3D games that mostly rely on OOB are pretty boring though However there was an offhand comment when he was in the first game that they have to alter a file in Fallout 2 to allow an exploit; that seems like a step too far to me. Maybe he didnt explain it right but that seems like where a line should be drawn, when youre actually changing the games files. --- |
