I could get through Ellies part because it had at least one interesting character, but there is nothing in Abbys section that makes me want to continue looting and killing for another 10 hours. Boatman's Call is also really, really good. Hell, it's all good. The final scene has zero impact due to that. I'm having fun playing the game, but I cannot take the narrative seriously for exactly this reason. Some of the scenes are laughable when I think about the body count that I've already piled up. If a game was every the poster child for "ludonarrative dissonance," this is it. |
