Our knowledge change with time , the universe changes with time , even Earth changes with time.

It's logical to keep track of the time and adjust what's necessary for things to function properly.
Most definitely our calculations and process of doing things would not work with ancient civilizations , so it's logical that theirs will not with ours in this current time.

For me it's way more logical as Lunar calendar ,which is way more precise than Gregorian calendar, has 13 moon phases. The constellations also seem to fit better with the new 13 zodiac signs.

I cannot disagree with people who want to keep their 12 months and 12 zodiac signs, we gotta believe in what makes better sense for us unless it harms someone.

On top of that we cannot be sure if people who lived 2000 years ago or people who live now have better understanding or their calculations are correct. Maybe people in future will laugh at ours too. That said maybe it's better to rely on calculations that we make today because we think they work for us just fine. Maybe

nothing wrong with your topic , I just meant I would make different decisions based on many factors.

I don't know if there is something like "time" that one needs to adjust, what I know is that I wouldn't just go have sex on a whim unless I would go prank someone if I knew the transformation will expire in 24 hours .

I guess a chance of being the opposite gender for a day is already interesting experience. Especially when each gender keeps blaming the other for not knowing what it's like.

I guess I would need a year instead of 24 hours to accomplish something significant and whole bunch of factors would probably play a role in that ,so it's open question whatever we add.

To add to this, different cultures have different views on this.

In some cultures it's not unusual to have multiple generations living in the same home, sharing a bed with someone who isn't your partner, kissing to say "hello", etc.
In other cultures those things are viewed as taboo.

I would say the same thing. And I would add that even if you live within a culture that is less tolerant towards it then it doesn't mean you can't do what works for you if it's something that doesn't hurt anyone.

Even today in America we can still see the brutality of those slave plantations in our current capitalistic system which preys upon people of color who work for minimal pay while doing laborious manual intensive labor. The blueprint for that was laid out on those slave plantations many moons ago.

I liked both, but I have those two films in two totally different categories.

Rampage seemed like action,comedy while King of Monsters looked like pure action with no humor.

I like The Rock and Rampage had great monsters in it , based on his character I think the movie delivered great score cause when you watch Dwayne you kinda get ready for some action and some funny moments. I would not want anything different from that man, he's got a skill with it. At the same time I wouldn't think he could perform well in a horror or somewhere where he can't be himself cause it would just disappoint the expectations.

King of Monsters had great cast, awesome plot and great effects ( better than the previous movie in my opinion ), but they still didn't find a good way to portray Godzilla so that it takes your breath away when you watch him appear on the screen. In that I think the previous Godzilla film from 2014 did a better job, the angle of view and surrounding pictured godzilla in more scary and more realistic view. They could kinda take notes from the movie called Pacific Rim ( the first one ). Great scenes.

Almost every popular person had this now with the same stories , mostly with a foggy ending.
Yeah, maybe it's just a time people felt comfortable to put it all out and seek justice, but there is a chance most of it is a scam.

I used to order pizza when we were getting together with friends and stuff, but still preferred homemade cause I liked really thick dough that you can dip in some sauce or just eat it on it's own, because it's quite tasty.

I didn't order in a while, lately the dough became a bit too thin and soggy , the tomato sauce have way too much herbs in it that don't match and cheese is a bit plastic.

It's not just pizza tho, I think I tried every lasagna or tomato sauce available on the market and they all taste a bit weird. The herb combo is just wrong , it's like they put some herbs in to hide something else , but don't even know which ones are good together and which ones are not. There was a time I ate pasta just with cheese , was still better than heating that sauce. Probably sounds like I'm too picky, but I don't use any special foods, I just don't like whatever they do with the stuff.

I would say it's complicated. Everyone is gonna have different detailed opinion on such topic based on their preferences and things they value the most.

Personally , from distance it seems that there is a lot of disagreement in the states. Image is what people want to repair, but can't be done without the nation come to reasonable solution.

The topic asked for thoughts on America .... I am not immortal so I can't see the whole picture and to judge based on a few man-made articles and news is not reasonable. However based on real experience... I definitely can see what's missing tho and it's more respect, more awareness , new traditions more fit for the way people function these days , healthier environment and people learning what's important in terms of modern ethics so that the society can function better and not be stuck in the past while using the presence and going into the future.

You just need to be lucky, some people do their job well, some don't care.
Most places have 3 different delivery service options. Each service has a certain person working within your area and one of them will be decent. I just started to shop with websites that use that specific delivery service I like and it's fine.

Bought couple of them, but had bad luck with it. The shops that sell them are not suppose to do returns, but found out they do and the stuff is not even properly sealed ,so no way.

There are some websites that make stuff to order and use good materials , but they only sell online.

It's actually vital as it determines who is with you or against you. If you suppress free expression, you don't know if you're surrounding yourself with allies or not.

It certainly is hard when some folk get offended over nothing because they need drama in their life. I post what I want, when I want and don't care if YOU like it or not as your feelings are not important to me. The same can be said for any other random person.

It's not about anybody's feelings , it's about the environment in which the next generations grow up in.
When I say "public statements" I don't necessarily mean comments from you or me and on a gaming forum.
But celebrities and any media that pass through news or television or famous platforms should not discriminate anyone. Discrimination is bad for development of any culture. Everybody always on about how humans and ethics are evolving but nothing great going on so far. No motivation to set better example whatsoever. Btw they can think whatever they want , but saying something that millions of people will watch or read is another thing. Discrimination is bad influence and it has effect if you just let it be there without pointing it out and if you think otherwise well good luck.

JKR is a writer, I think she knows what she writes about pretty well ..more than other people...and if there is a hint of discrimination then she must be aware of it pretty well.
Even worse ...she writes books that kids read and she is quite famous, so even if she has some problem with people of certain gender or sexuality then she could keep it to herself to show some human solidarity. Something many people do to hold social standards and moving ethics a bit better direction so that we don't need to live like in stone age.
If she doesn't ( like she didn't ) then if a topic about her appears I'm gonna say that she talks sh#t .
It's the most polite way I could talk about her.

Legally yes. It would be against YouTube's rules though so would be removed.

Not sure how in other countries, but here in Canada I've seen some legal cases even from inappropriate speech or behavior. Not even mentioning racist public opinions. Ugh...that wouldn't be good.

To be fair, in this current social climate the criteria for what is considered hateful or offensive speech is pretty ridiculous. Almost any opposing opinion can be misconstrued as hateful simply because it deviates from a particular groups beliefs. This happens on both sides of the political spectrum.

Social media has given people the opportunity to instantly share their opinion and see the opinions of others, even when these opinions have absolutely no affect on their own lives. Which is why I stated that you don't have to feel obligated to feel outraged at every perceived slight from something you read or see. If you go looking for it, you will find it. That will never change.

The relationship between technology and free speech is a tricky subject, and one I wasn't intending to get involved in. This is why I emphasized the personal component, not what should or shouldn't be from an ethical, legal or moral point of view.

Can't take away ethical,legal and moral aspect from public statements.

That's just what modern society finds important for the further development of culture.

But you have your view on it and that's fine . I have my opinion on it and I am just giving readers option to see it different way too, so that they can choose and not fall into assumption that your view is everyone's view on the subject.

You mention that it's hard with today's criteria in the current social climate , but that's just what comes with development of humanity and the cultures. Can't be stuck in stone age forever. To adapt and try be better is important.

Also, there are rules which forbid some opinions ( usually regarding racism ) to be spoken about ,so why should other bad opinions ( for example homophobic or opinions offending certain groups ) be allowed ?

The reason I reacted to your post is simply because it is in this topic which is about JKR offending trans people and your post makes it look like offensive comments towards trans people are not as important to extent where people should not care - or as you say " not feel obligated " ?!

It should be peoples priority to make sure their public opinions are not offensive to other people, it's not that hard.

You state "Not all unethical things are forbidden yet, but it doesn't mean people should use them". Whether or not someone should or should not say something is irrelevant. People are going to say things you don't like. Period.

How you react to these opinions is entirely up to you. It can be beneficial to look directly at something that upsets you and examine it holistically and honestly. Remove your personal feelings from the equation and just look at it.

Your previous post on this topic seems to say that public hate or offensive comments or opinions happen and there is no need to "feel obligated to feel outraged" because "some are bound to offend".

So basically your post would suggest to leave them there and not voice a concern.

Not really a five star advice.

Social media makes it possible for people to share their opinion instantly, and given the variety of beliefs out there, some are bound to offend. Even from people you may respect.

On that note. It's best not to venerate anyone. Always assume that every living person may believe something you would find objectionable.

If I remember correctly , aren't there a rules that outline what you can say on public and not ?
Some expressed believes and opinions can bring people to a court even.

I think JKR is getting what she deserves, she is a writer yet she doesn't really care about the way she talks to other people. Her recent post didn't relate to me, but I can see why some folks would be upset over such statement she made.

Anyone who is displaying their opinion or thoughts on public or social media should make sure it doesn't offend anyone and it has some moral standards.

Famous people should learn that before they open their mouth or they should find another job. No excuse.

In June LGBT+ community celebrates all the accomplishments achieved towards receiving better civil rights for lgbt+ people in recent history.

It's not just about festivals and celebration tho, it's about sorrow too. Lot's of lgbt+ people lost their lives in past 2000 years because of racism.

It would be creepy from strangers that didn't ask, but I wouldn't find it creepy at some party tho.

Coworkers or friends are absolutely fine for me , they just try to bond. I would rather find it weird if they were just silent and be like "I don't wanna come closer" .
I wouldn't do it, cause most people are sensitive about their personal space and don't want any contact at all.
I would always ask first and try getting a permission.

I would say more than one a day is a hassle , I've got so many things to do that I barely have time to seriously game.

If I do have time ( rarely ) , I like to switch between 3 games a day ... animal crossing, skyrim and some other game like pokemon or civilization6 or monster hunter

1 . Skyrim ! Have no words. It's just perfect game.

2 . Shadow of mordor ! Probably the best game for xbox I had. I think developers often forget that the controller is how you interact with the character in the game and assign certain functions to really weird buttons that are either hard to reach or worst case... if there is a move that requires several steps ... they usually choose really weird combination.
I would say that was the opposite in Shadow of mordor.

3 . Monster hunter 3,4,Gen and stories ! I just love the creative artwork and great mechanics.

4 . Pokemon Let's Go ! For any fan of pokemon , I would say that's the gold right there.

The difference usually occurs in personal lines from a big line that can hint character's personality to small lines or details that can make scene funny or more serious.

Most fighting scenes or scenes where a character gives an order are translated well , most likely accurately.

I would say it's hard to translate lots of english expressions to japanese and lots of japanese expressions to english. But it would feel better to first try to understand the thinking of the art's creator and then watch his/hers original piece than watch version that was made on assumption that you will understand it better.

Just my opinion. I prefer it that way.

Very, very rarely does this happen and it doesn't happen in NGE. The literal Netflix dub just made the show more awkward to watch.

I would say it happens all the time.

But our opinion can be different because we might watch different anime series.

It's a bit annoying when you hear your favorite character say something good in Japanese and then read something that doesn't make it so special in the english traslation.

Sometimes I'm having a hard time convincing my friends that the character was very thoughtful rather than what it seemed to be that he didn't care , something like that.

I watch all anime only with sub if I need it.

Nothing wrong with dub , but the text must be slightly changed to fit. Sometimes the different reaction in speech can make big difference and can lead you to misunderstanding of the character's personality.

Sub is not perfect either , because while the anime or movie is being translated the directors don't focus on pure translation. They think that people in different countries with different culture would not understand or appreciate the original ,so they change some text a bit to make it more fitting for the specific audience.

In my opinion , there is nothing to misunderstand. If you watch anime, you will most likely hear or read about Japan's culture and similar things and while it's a bit different ...it's not so different from anyone else and it's clearly understandable. There is no need to for changes in translation. I would rather appreciate the original , because I find the character's responses way better and more fitting.

Unwanted judgement on someone's relationship is not just nosy , it's also very wrong. In terms of modern human ethics it's beyond the line and shows underdeveloped civility.

Someone who judges other's relationship ( especially in public statements ) that doesn't involve them should be thought of basic boundaries that shows a proper manners , respect and civility.

Played both , love both and have to say both are very impressive games that just sit on top of my list.... tho I vote for Skyrim in this contest cause in DarkSouls you get that feeling you complete tasks to reach goals until you finish the game while in Skyrim you get options on every corner leading to many outcomes , basically every step takes you somewhere else .
Also you get that nice feeling of building up the character of your warrior and that's the true gem for me , cause in Skyrim you don't get to choose from a few character/personality options (which mostly doesn't change the flow) like in other games, you basically build the character on the go and it has it's effects within the game.
For example : the choice to get rid of or ignore or trick a possible opponent in the game is really cool .
I like it a lot. There's of course much more I love about the game.

xenoblade has been one of the stars of the contest. Smash is is luck to be in the same match as xenoblade. One is a highly respected rpg and the other is an overhyped character reveal simulator

I admit xenoblade had great story, but how can it be respected ? It was so uncomfortable to play , it felt like going backwards in the evolution of open 3d space in a game.
