This is three times so far where they've failed to deliver my items by the latest due date (and I highly doubt I'll end up seeing them. Reordering when I can).

They should really learn to update delivery dates on the tracker if a package's going to be late.

Yeah, it's not like there is anything going on in the world that would delay that stuff.

Amazon typically is one of the fastest companies to ship things online, them being slower with a world crisis going on is understandable.

I ordered a couple of things recently with the free 5-7 day shipping, both of them were at my doorstep 2 days later.

Probably depends on what you are ordering and where you are located.

I remember back when you used to order stuff and it took 2 months to get to your doorstep (maybe even longer). So yea, a month is super fast all things considered.

I waited several weeks to get my pre order for Final Fantasy VII Remake from another site. I understood the situation so didn't mind. I think you need to do the same TC.

Amazon has never missed a date that I recall, however some dates are a week or two out. My last order was split into 3. One got here, another due tomorrow, the last on Mon.

What surprised me was how Wally is sticking it to them. I placed a small order there last Sat night and no lie it was here that Mon morning. Zon has never been here in 1 day. Free shipping I should note.

They have a notice on their site now due to what is going on in the world deliveries might be delayed and some might get preferential treatment.

Most of my stuff has gotten to me in fairly good time. I remember before Amazon so just about anything they do I consider fast.

even during this amazon has never been late with their dates for arv and with the amount of stuff that comes before the expecting date arv thinks you can stop being a dick head and tell your mother you love her because arv feels like you are a ungrateful child

My used Sega Saturn arriving from Amazon Japan seems to be shipping waaaaaay faster than anything I've ordered from Amazon North America over the past 2 months.
I feel bad for those Japanese workers tho :'(

USPS parcels are delayed, too, I've had some that the tracking just says "in transit" for a week. I had one package that showed arrived at the distribution center across the river, didn't make it to my post office for 5 days, was the bridge out?

Currently tracking one that was to be delivered yesterday, latest update May 7 "in transit".

And I'm expecting a package from Germany, estimated 1-2 weeks, it's been 5 weeks so far. Ordered a pulse oximeter from China (yes, I know, check SARS-2 symptoms with a Chinese device, fun) 6weeks ago, waiting.

If you have flu-like symptoms it will tell you if you're developing pneumonia, which is the killer in both seasonal flu and SARS-2.

They are definitely prioritizing things that are more important if someone is ordering masks or medication you bet your ass they are getting a higher priority. If a hospital buys anything they are likely getting a very high priority etc... Amazon is also seeing a lot more business i would assume in the Covid crisis since less people are leaving their home to go buy things in person, or the fact that some stores aren't even open.

only if you already have severe pneumonia would a oximeter suggest anything, as in, you'd already know you have it.

trying to use one to detect pneumonia early is an effort in guesswork.

i am a rural carrier for the post office. i live in california, and there are some areas where there is no amazon center nearby, where they have amazon drivers, so the post office has to deliver those packages for amazon. the post office is already understaffed because some areas in california (like santa barbara) are too expensive to live in with a carrier salary. it has been crazy here. it is like peak season every day. mail volume is down, but parcels are up. peak season is when it is near the holidays, like xmas. you get a shit load of parcels for about two months. but it has been like that everyday since covid became a thing. also, UPS has had to unload parcels to the post office as well. we are all short. being overwhelmed with parcels is what makes some new carriers quit. we are trying to get everything delivered every day. everything. even it means staying out until 10 pm. the latest i have been out was around 10:15 pm.

I've had little issue. But then again one of their major warehouses is like 30 minutes from here. But typically stuff I order arrives earlier than the due date. But I'm also on Prime as well.

A USPS worker once said to my spouse 'when I went back where I left it, it was gone'. In regards to over $500 worth of gifts.

They've delivered a clearly labeled package of ours across the street before.

I had a conversation with the guy who did it, telling him directly that a package had been placed on the porch across the street.

His reply? That's not possible. We only deliver packages on Sunday.

I kept repeating it was a package before he finally replied 'I don't know, I don't normally do this route'. Keep in mind, he had said earlier in the conversation that he had done the delivery on Sunday.

This was a couple months before the holidays last year.

I've had the USPS put an envelope on the porch, with the mailbox easily accessible. And them putting stuff in the box before and after that incident.

UPS we've never had these kind of issues with.

Not to mention that somehow someone could be in the living room and in the short time of going to the door the USPS worker is in their truck after knocking once. Not a big deal, except when something needs to be signed for and then that turns into package tag where apparently no one has the thing for days.

USPS is such shit. My carrier puts my letters under my package by my front door whenever I have a package. They've gotten soaked before when it rains. Because he's too lazy to put the package by the door and the letters in the mailbox.

I've never had any problems with USPS. They're a good service in my experience
