No, debate isn't needed to make Battler's powers work. It's the other way around. Debate is how they are made not to work. Basically Umineko magic works on a refutation system. It exists until it's proven not to. If Gregor chooses not to prove Battler's magic is fake, welp, he's dealing with a being that can, for example, say 'I can launch a projectile that cannot possibly miss, cannot be dodged, and is instantly lethal' and make it so. Which means he'd have to ambush Battler to have a shot in hell and uh, good luck with that as an eight feet tall monster in armor.

1- Good old fashioned gaming fun. Not revolutionary but really structurally speaking the greatest foundation a series has ever and perhaps will ever have. It's like kinda dull by modern standards but great game.
2- I've never played this much due to the fact it is such a heavy sequel and needs to be played fresh after 1
3- Great innovations, great art, great characters, takes some bold steps but the weird way the story is set up does ultimately hurt it. (Thomas should be the flamebringer, fight me)
4- I have no idea why this game is just amazing in every way. It could be the now fairly common ability to just kind of not do battles and have the whole game on auto battle while you do other stuff. I remember I would play this game like people watch the Office. Present and half attentive for the tedious parts and all in and prepared for the more enjoyable moments. It's seriously great from beginning to end, it's simple, it doesn't have any bells or whistles just a good game
Tactics- Sooo bad. Just bad controls, bad visibility, bad battle length, there's just no way to play this game and enjoy it.
5- This is when things got bad. Long loading time, slow text, cutscenes that are just there to add sex appeal to child characters, it's borderline unplayable. The game is dependent on dialogue choices but you'll often pick the default choice because of the slow nature of the game and how easy it is to accidently mash through a response. I've heard the characters and story are good, too bad I don't have the patience to play what feels like idea factory level of quality.
Tierkreis- This is when they got everything right. Highest amount of playable characters, diverse cast, huge world (for a ds game) voice acting that sounded like a gilmore girls parody, and the game had a great balance that made you actually able use most of your 108. The actual concept of suikoden is also touched on in the game and that makes it a good starting point for a lot of people. My only complaint is the game is a little too smooth and as such can be a bit dull from time to time.

The character description of popeye in the first post is literally just the word 'spinach' so it is safe to assume that the leafy greens are in play here. it would make no sense for him to be high tier otherwise

I've heard this one before. The cop who says he cares about black people because spends his day on the streets fighting crime in black neighborhoods.

Let's consider for a moment a farmer who has a flock of sheep. The farmer spends his time among the sheep, protecting them from being eaten by wolves and the other dangers that threaten small fluffy livestock. From the farmer's perspective it seems like he really cares for the sheep, after all, he devotes so much time to them!

But let's think how the sheep feel about this situation. Though the farmer might protect them, they are trapped within the fences of the farmer's land, and they have to constantly worry that the farmer might shoot them if they stray too far from the flock (or if he gets a hankering for some mutton). If the sheep dare protest the situation they are in the farmer will just shoot more of them.

It's not a perfect analogy, but it demonstrates the disconnect between police and the way many people (particularity black people) view them. If cops can't get out of their own little world and understand this better I fear the situation we are in will just get worse and worse.

Guys, Popeye is one of the most powerful toonforce characters there is, he can casually ignore all the laws of physics, reality and the universe if he feels like it.

here's how the fight will go down:

Illyria will freeze Popeye in time, Popeye will say (in his head) 'I've had all I can stands and I cant stands no more' and will his spinach to jump out of the can and walk into his mouth, activating god mode and freeing him.
Illyria will then toss him into another reality but he just punches a hole in the fabric of the universe and comes back, and decks Illyria so hard she turns into a buffy action figure which flies neatly on to the shelf in a toy store.

I think what is key here is that Marisa cares a lot more than Death does. Death would get bored with their conflict pretty quickly once it is clear that they cannot hurt each other.

Marisa is a magical prodigy with great knowledge of the arcane and divine, and Death is far from the first cosmic being she has faced.She demonstrates a great ability to learn and I just do not buy that she dies of old age before she finds out some way to seal Death away with her magic.

Anyway, Xenoblade has much higher power level then Persona, the characters there can casually blow up continents and shit. While Zenobia has not done anything of the sort, her combat abilities are similar to those who have. Zenobia is also a Blade which are pretty hard to actually kill.
Joker is just a kid with a cool pet he can summon and he will get disemboweled pretty quickly by Zenobia's big-ass anime axe.
