While I always thought it was odd in some instances (I worked with a very beautiful young woman who kept bemoaning her chin and need for some form of plastic surgery, but I could just not see it), I understand the 'superficial feel good' rational, and understand it trumping what others suggest is some inferiority complex someone simply needs to 'work on'. People spend a lot of money projecting an image that might not necessarily have to do with their body. How different is it really if someone wishes to project their own internalized image, and that method involves body modification?

I confess it isn't for me (getting plastic surgery), but even criticism I have thought of doesn't really hold up.

Fun/Stupid Fact: here in Ohio the the program requires that certain names be changed to be appropriate. For instance when my dispensary got the Green Crack strain we had to rename it to Green Panther/Dragon depending on who cultivated it.

Ha. I mean, it makes sense a bit. I saw some truly stupid names like "black nazi" and "killing fields" when the weed business boomed on the west coast of Canada. Like, when is the "Auschwitz" strain coming *eyeroll*!? I get why they didn't like the word "crack" but....lol.

Been there, done that. I've had 14 jobs. My last job was as an Optician/Optometric Assistant. I quit because they cheated me through the Optician program, wrote me up a crap contract tying me to them for two years (there were misspellings and the contract was presented to me two weeks into program), and the management was usually out looking for strawberries at the farmer's market instead of managing.

I quit without another job lined up, and have done similar things in the past. I applied for school, a student loan, and got a cleaning job for a month in the summer to keep a little bit of cash flow in between.

It used to stress me out, but I've learned that a stressful job simply isn't worth it, and the stress of finding another job doesn't equate to shitty job stress.

I think maybe a couple users might have considered it, but it didn't really become a thing until Zeus started bringing it up because he thinks everyone who dislikes him is an alt. I used to when I delivered pizza and the University campus station was awesome a lot of the time. That was about 8 years ago though. Any 'regular' radio is very mind-numbingly boring for me (the music they play, and the adverts).

I have around 280GB of music all meticulously sorted in MusicBee. I use Spotify for discovery a little but prefer not to. Bandcamp is my preferred way to purchase. I also buy CD and vinyl, depending.

Yes. I used to be more in the line of thought of..

"I never get the flu! I don't need one!", and I worked in a pharmacy. That was even the line of thought with other coworkers. As I've looked more into vaccines, the more people vaccinated...the better. It isn't about protecting your health, it's about creating as much immunity in the population to stunt spread as much as possible. It was easy to get it through school, I didn't even sign up until the day of. I haven't gotten it consistently in the past 5 years though. I'd prefer to be more on top of it.

My bubble is tiny, but my roommate is a 63 year old anti-vaxxer. I can cope with him because he's chill and has self-humility, which is more than I can say for a lot of people I AGREE with typically. I'll see if I can convert him. He tells me there are heavy metals in vaccines (there aren't any longer, at least not here in Canada)...but he also tells me that large amounts of cilantro will neutralize heavy metals LMAO.
