It was faithful down to the use of heavily stylized, theatrical costumes and mannerisms, as they may (perhaps) have been seen by 12th century theatergoers, with dialogue and a singing chorus taken straight from source texts, rhyming couplets and all. The Last Wave is this really neat apocalyptic thriller, and Picnic at Hanging Rock is absolutely one of the best movies of the 1970s.
