In high school a lot of people gave me shit for being a master of pugs. It didn't help that my views radically changed during the 11th grade. I wasn't trying to force my views on anyone I just liked pugs =/

I don't think I will ever see these people again because I don't live in the same state I went to high school, but I have a Masters in Pug Science now so fuck them.

I was joking, though I didn't make that clear at all.

Like considering how Scar dies at the end of the movie (being mauled by hyenas) it wouldn't make much sense that he would end up as a neatly skinned pelt in Ancient Greece.

Ah, fair enough, I guess I unfairly assumed that this was a genuine fan theory that was gaining steam. I was still pretty shocked that people didn't pick up on this reference (and one or two were doubling down on it not being the obvious reference that it is) that I guess it was throwing a monkey wrench in my sarcasm meter, lol.

Having said what I said earlier, there is a world of difference between simple comedic callback (the pelt is quite obviously a reference to Scar) and some kind of elaborate fan theory: thinking that Scar's remains canonically found their way to Ancient Greece is like thinking that Jack Nicholson, Rodney Dangerfield, Pinocchio and electric lamps all existed in ancient Arabia, because how else would Genie and Aladdin be knowledgeable enough about them to make jokes about them?

I can't remember what I have seen the Disney Hades in but based on what i remember of him i assume I'd really like the movie.

James Woods' used-car-salesman-from-hell Hades is arguably the best comedic villain in Disney's pantheon. He reportedly liked the role so much that he was happy to voice the character in any and all supplemental media, such as the Kingdom Hearts games.

The movie as a whole is a little shaky at times, but apart from Hades, it's also a pretty funny parody of celebrity / pro athlete culture wrapped (very) loosely around the Hercules mythology.

TIL there are actual people in this world who didn't immediately pick up on this reference when they watched Hercules as kids.

EDIT it's also a twofold reference, calling back to both Hercules' lion pelt in the original myth and (somewhat) paying off Zazu's observation that '[Scar would] make a very handsome throw rug.'

One of the improvements Skyrim made over Oblivion was doing a better job of incorporating the Daedric Lords and their quests into the world. Some of them still fall into the 'go to wilderness shrine, fetch and / or kill thing' mold, but ones like Sanguine, Molag Bal, and Namira happen much more organically. The only one I can think of that goes overboard in this regard and ends up landing in the realm of pure stupidity is Nocturnal.

Playing through oblivion for the first time, it seems to have more depth than Skyrim

tbh Skyrims leveling system is unbalanced and feels limited

Don't confuse convolution with depth in this case; Morrowind and Oblivion's leveling system are promising on paper, but in actuality punish you for using your major skills if you want good attribute bonuses at level-up. The usual counter to this is that you shouldn't obsess over stat growth and just play the game without worrying about it, but that line of thinking itself runs contrary to the notion of actively seeking greater depth in both game mechanics and control over character development.

The streamlining can negatively affect future games in less obvious ways as well. Remember how many specialty shops there were in Morrowind and Oblivion? Skyrim, by comparison, only had a single clothing shop and single dedicated bookseller in the entire province; and only one of the minor hold capitals out of four even manages to meet the smith / general goods / alchemist minimum. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if ES 6 streamlines merchant options down to 'Inn' and 'Store.'

There are two courses of action when facing off against a cheating team: A) lose, and later try to get them brought to justice over it (and likely lose at that too), or B) do your damnedest to run the score up so far over their heads that even their cheating can't help them. At which point you can then follow up with option A.

Florida's already lost over a billion dollars in its annual tourist trade this year - unsurprisingly, sane people don't want to take a vacation to a place where a deadly pandemic is practically encouraged to spread unchecked. Did it ever occur to you that people who are out on tours / vacations at this time are the exact demographic of people who would downplay / not care about the pandemic, and that people who are taking it seriously are staying home?

I tend to believe that the average voter has the memory of a goldfish, and only really has their vote influenced by the two months leading up to the election; if Trump managed to get his act together in that time, the rest of his term won't have mattered. But Trump's current course of 'open up schools, let athletes play' is very likely primed to blow up in his face quite spectacularly when schools and athletic programs start seeing outbreaks in early fall and are forced to shut down again.

Season 4 is still hard to top, and has my favorite ep in the series (Everybody Comes to Hank's). But the Blue Morpho arc is probably my favorite storyline of the whole series. Even though I too would have liked to seen it go on longer, the conclusion came way out of left field and was so damn satisfying: part of me thought we'd never actually get a straight answer as to what really happened to Jonas Sr, but what do you know, it finally happened (still a few questions left unanswered, but its still way more conclusion than I ever expected). And they tied it into the Monarch's arc perfectly; I was pretty damn giddy when Vendata showed up in the Blue Morpho's outfit, because everything clicked in an instant and I didn't even need the show to explain how that tied everything together.

I couldn't bring myself to vote. If I'd played Morrowind in the early 2000's, it would probably win. I want to give it to Oblivion, but the fact that I logged literally thousands of hours on it yet haven't touched it once since Skyrim released is very telling; Skyrim's flawed as hell, but that's no excuse to give Oblivion the rose-tinted treatment. I'm also currently biased towards Skyrim because I finally got the opportunity to play it with some particularly fantastic mods, whereas I never had that opportunity with Oblivion.

Destroying small businesses like this will only lead to a bigger monopoly with large corporations. Like you really can't just pause and put everything on hold like this. If college sports gets destroyed that means the stream line to having new sports players gets damaged. And when that becomes unbalanced it'll be the end of sports once the current crop is done. Only individual sports like golf boxing and mma will be able to create new talent.

At some point we all gotta realize we are doing a little bit too much for something that is not as deadly as first thought. Proven by how often these top scientists we are supposed to listen to constantly change their predictions or stances. But when you give the government this much power they're not gonna relinquish it easy. Pandemic was legitimate but now I think we are at the stages where they'll lie about it to keep their power. My evidence for this is looking at the corruption of every government or ruling class ever.
