| SpiritSephiroth 07/20/20 8:25:55 AM #1 | This is gonna be a short post. But one of the major gripes I have with RPGs and mmorpgs is the world building. It is beautiful, well woven and well written most of the time. The places, locations and characters are easy to tie yourself too, but thats the problem. Most developers and writers are afraid to destroy it all or move away from the land they have made. For example, if the villain is able to destroy everything Not only that, but the formula of quest building, grinding and farming in certain pre-generated locations will have to be thrown down the toilet. I dont think many devs have either the balls or energy/resources to make such a story anymore. They were able to pull it off in It's a shame because I really want an RPG to do this again. Either build a world where you play in for a while and then the character will have to either leave to another world or the planet gets destroyed. Most of the time you only see this part at the end, --- |
