Good enough to get by in a couple Latin American Countries on my own. "LatinX" seems like a distinction without a difference. French, Japanese, Spanish and other languages are also gendered. [I'm multilingual]. What "problem" necessitated this "change"? I can see calling a "senorita" a "senora" or something but "X"? I will proudly label myself liberal, progressive, etc. but I do not understand the need for this one. I was taught to respect the language as is (in situ) not to try to Westernize it. Speak it as the locals speak it.
