When an off duty cop makes an arrest they're supposed to have an id along with their badge. Is it sanctioned for work us, this gun? Does that person know what you do now?

1. every department policy is different. Mine requires if you carry off duty you need just your badge. I carry my police ID in my wallet, just because there where I put it. I dont actually need it

if my wife calls me crying that someone advanced towards her screaming obscenities that she had to run in and lock the door. That threatens the personal safety of my wife. I had just happened to be pulling into the neighborhood when she called. Who knows what he couldve done?

i would be 100 percent justified to shoot a man advancing towards my front door threatening my wife, in pitch black, where I have no idea if hes armed or not. Who was later determined to be a subject high on drugs. I did the responsible thing, I protected my wife and my house, I stood in one spot, I made sure to back away and keep my distance and told him to leave. Once he heard cops coming, he started running away from my property, I holstered up and let the police do their work.

Im sure most people see someone on their property in the middle of the night would do something
