Most sports are in the action genre, including the above examples, along with quality sports like hockey, BMX, and tennis. They are the Aliens or Terminator 2 of sports.

Then you have the suspense genre of sports, which are the Terminator 1 or Alien of sports. This includes things like billiards and baseball.

Also kind of surprised that Tokyo Godfathers didn't make the poll. Not because it's one of the most well known Christmas movies, but it's pretty much the iconic anime Christmas film. I know this board is big into anime, so it's surprising, but maybe people here only watch the TV shows rather than the movies.

To use another example, in our universe, VR gaming basically died, but in another universe, there was a VR game that was as revolutionary as SMB was, and now everyone plays VR there, and regular video games don't really get made anymore.

Halo is great when it has sweeping outdoor locations. The interiors are so dull though. And don't give me the tired "but the aliens made the interiors repetitive to confuse invaders" argument.

Halo 3 was some of the best online play of its era though.

Aside from stereotype breaking, like the mouse chasing the cat, and the child doing work while the adult plays, the correct answer is the mom is really fucking huge. Nobody can sit on the floor of the kitchen and tower above the countertops like that. If she had a leak under the sink, she wouldn't be able to fit underneath to fix it.

Interesting. Maybe I should consider starting over and choosing the more difficult setting, then. I would say the only tough part so far was navigating Quick Mans stage. Any other thoughts on this?

The game is pretty easy either way. I always do Difficult, because Normal feels unnecessarily easy. I don't think you will run into much trouble, especially after having already done MM1.

And there is one particular boss that I think will be amusing to hear your write-up when you play on Difficult, and we'll miss out on this fun if you play on Normal ;).

Just as with my decision to move clockwise through the robot masters in MM1, Ive decided to do the same to start MM2 unless I hit a wall or something.

Awww come on! Trying to figure out what weapon might work on another boss is part of the fun! And if your guess is wrong, then it's no different than doing pure random.

The Flintstones one is even more out there.

I've heard the Flintstones one before actually. I forgot about it though.

I think it's usage stems from the Flintstones theme song which has a line "They're a page right out of history", which is sang similarly with a similar amount of syllables with emphasis on the word "history".

There's been so many times in my life where I get burned out on Magic, then stop for a while, then the passion returns. I don't think it's anything to worry about. Probably best not to sell all your cards as long as you aren't dying for money. I made that mistake once.

Mega Man 1's difficulty is a little overrated. It has some rough spots but it's still pretty forgiving as far as NES games go.

Yeah, I think it only has this reputation because of it's relation to the rest of the NES Mega Man series, which is a very easy series. Plus a lot of people think of the Yellow Devil fight as being some particularly tough battle that many of them had to cheat at to beat it, though I've never really understood why everyone says that battle was hard.

But for sure in comparison to many other NES games, it's not really tough.

Im hoping to go for as close to an original NES experience as possible, which means absolutely no resetting for me in any of these games. Its just how I prefer to play.

Yes! Very happy to hear this! It can take some self-discipline to do that when you know it's something so easily accessible to cheat at, but it's way more satisfying to play it through the way it was intended IMO.

And glad you are liking Mega Man 1! You should really love the series then.

1 has a better challenge than most of the originals. Its level design isn't as good, and I'd say to play it a little later when you've decided you like the series and want more.

2 is one of the easiest ones, in large part to one of the items being completely busted. Even with 2 difficulties, the hardest setting is very easy. This is a good one to start as it has the most basic elements, so you get to see the later games add more mechanics.

3 has some of the best level design and a decent difficulty. It adds sliding. It's for sure one of the best. Also would be a good place to start.

4 has great design, adds the charge shot, and is pretty easy. Good place to start.

5 is a little dull, has terrible music, and few fun weapons. Don't start with this one.

6 has some nice level designs and isn't very difficult. It adds a few more mechanics, and has a flying suit that makes things really easy. Not a bad one to start with, but I'd say pick another one.

7 has some limited choices which isn't a great representation, though still a fun game, probably one of the weaker in the series. Don't start here.

Rockman & Forte/Mega Man & Bass plays like 7, but is basically an improvement in every regard. Cool level design and bosses. It's also probably the hardest of the original series. Don't start here.

8 is trash. Don't start here. Don't even play it.

9 is the best Mega Man game. It goes back to the basic style of Mega Man 2. It has amazing level design and the most well rounded set of Robot Master weapons so you'll have fun actually using every single weapon, unlike many games where you have 0-2 that you actually use regularly. Not super easy, but not too hard either. Would be a good place to start.

10 is about the same high quality of 9, though only slightly less good. Nothing would be wrong with starting here, though no reason to do it before 9.

11 has the most new mechanics of any of the MM games and a higher difficulty than most of the series. It's probably the worst representation of the original series, but still a great game. I'd say not to start here.

How is a ketchup a 'refrigerate after opening' when restaurants always have like 40 bottles of them all over their tables. They never refrigerate those, and it's not like they go through them that quickly.

For topic, I don't usually care enough to put something in that I prefer cold. Sometimes I have the foresight to do it, like with salsa.
