1 and 2 are both great. People crap on 2 for having too many throwbacks to 1, which is often a fair criticism, but they do it in a charming way that makes it feel like it goes hand in hand with the original, and it has plenty of refreshing things like Tim Curry and the hotel staff, and the new setting is fun.

I'd score them the same, and give a slight edge to 1 just for starting it.

A lot of Melee fans always say stuff like "If Nintendo would rerelease it exactly the same, we'd play it" and we all know that isn't true. Even if it was as exact as you can get, something in the porting process would be such a slight change, that Melee fans would complain as usual and not play it, because many of them have an established history of being unable to adapt. A large portion of Melee fans realized Ultimate was superior and they dropped Melee, and while the Melee community is shrinking fast, there are still a huge number of them that basically cried that they weren't able to adapt to Ultimate, and immediately went back to the one game they know. So a rerelease will just be the same thing again.

Say what you want about some of Nintendo's practices, but it's hard to have sympathy toward a community that pitiful.

The revisionism for the gamecube is interesting to me. Gamecube was pretty widely considered the worst nintendo system before the WiiU until recently.

I've never heard it widely considered the worst, even when it was new. It didn't sell well, but it always seemed highly acclaimed.

What is the feeling for people who don't use a pronoun at all? I've heard this before in relevant conversations IRL, such as:

P1: "Have you seen Lilith?"
P2: "Went to the bar. Said would catch up with us later."

I've know people who drop pronouns in general just as a casual way to talk a bit faster, but I've definitely heard this from people who don't normally talk that way. My guess is it's not a way to be disrespectful, but them struggling with their speech to adjust (it's been in the case of someone they knew prior to transition).

Just curious how people feel about that if they've also ever noticed it before too.

After seeing the stuffer spend 30 minutes on this poll, that would actually be funny to watch them try to circumvent IP voting, and up their vote time to 60-90 minutes every day.

A scalper is artificially impacting the supply/demand, though. They're shrinking supply without actually meeting ANY of the demand and then inflating the price based on the restraints they now caused. It hurts both other consumers for obvious reasons, and actual production since scalpers are making it impossible for them to actually meet the demand.

You can make a case that first line resellers (retailers), should put a limit on the amount that someone can buy (many do this already). It won't stop dedicated second line resellers (scalpers) from buying from many different sources, but they can't be everywhere (in terms of both physical locations and websites) at once, which will delay their lightning speed and allow others to purchase things before them. Many first line retailers are greedy though, and don't really care. You can blame them just as much.

Also keep in mind that many scalpers are just regular people, and often poor, so they might be more dedicated to camping out if it helps pay some back bills.

I still see it as capitalism. You get the supplies and demand chooses the price. Production makes more when demand calls for it.

Doing it with medical things is thankfully illegal unless you are a hospital or drug company, then you can fuck people as hard as you want legally.

And no, I wasn't saying CE was specifically a trans community, but I was asking those in that community. The post was from an Elliot Page topic there, so it was already being talked about, and there were those in that community weighing in.

He was in Juno, which was a pretty famous film in 2007. He was actually nominated for Best Actor at the Academy Awards that year for portraying a pregnant teen who wasn't sure whether to give up his unborn baby. There were a lot of people that hated the movie though because of the dialogue that tried really hard to be hip, but it mostly got good reviews.

Can a trans person here tell me the proper way to refer to Elliot's past work? In Juno, Elliot was nominated for Best Actress and was credited as Ellen. When referring to past work such as that, do I say "she is good in this movie" or "he is good in this movie"? I know the character would still be considered a "she" since it's a work of fiction. Just not sure how describing the actor's past work in a present tense works.

Surprised at "No" runaway winning this poll. I think it has more to do with everyone liking Ken Jennings than the tweet itself. If you took that same tweet and claimed someone like Tucker Carlson authored it, then "Yes" would be winning in a landslide.
